Optics Planet had better deals on Vortex Diamondbacks 10x42 last year, when I bought them for my sons. They will usually one-up big box stores on Monday special with no tax and free shipping. Great year-round present that they did not expect and really use.

Cabela's bargain cave had a 10x14 for mid $400s. (not sure if it was $425 or $475.) Unopened box. Just FYI if someone is looking. Seemed to be around same price as online at Competitive Edge, where my brother and good friend bought theirs. I have same tent w/o side vents. Spend 10-days in Utah and would never go with another brand. We had heat, rain, hail, with great results. Great review. Thanks for sharing

My brother has Mr. Heater BOSS base camp shower. Nice features but sensor can shut off unit too easily if it thinks its overheating. I bought Zodi base camp and it is very hot but doesn't turn off/on like BOSS. I prefer Zodi as it never fails. BOSS left me scrambling wet cold and soapy trying to rest sensor in Colorado last fall.

Have/Had Black Diamond, Petzl, Princeton headlamps. Have streamlight and surefire flash lights. My wife & family claim I'm a flashlight hoarder. Still fell in love with the Bushnell rechargeable headlamp. I carry it everywhere. Bought more than one and use it from hunt, fishing to walking the dog or truck repairs. I know they licensed the Bushnell name (which originally turned me away as cheap) but the company making this model has some good products. Maybe they use Fenix factories in China. Also have their rechargeable 600 lumen handheld rechargeable and like it a lot. Check them out. Can't find a better headlamp for <$30. PS. I have a dozen energizer AAA flashlights of various styles. Great for the price. I have three boys and they all hunt & fish. So 3x headlamps each is about right use and backup during our adventures. They lose or distroy them way too often. I enjoy reading everyone's post. Going to checkout the Streamlight Bandit for ultra small rechargeable pocket headlamp. I use my cell phone battery backup on USB rechargeable headlamps. It works great. Have spare juice for my phone & light. It's worth the weight.
