True, that's why I said if he knew they were there. I walked into a situation 6 years ago me and another hunter were chasing the same bull. He was able to get my attention before i moved in and ruined his opportunity. I never knew he was there.

Made until the last morning. Left hip took a dump. Great hunt and I ended up losing 25 pounds along the way. Once I recover I should be feeling a lot better and even more prepared for the next hunt.

Really good morning. The big bulls squared off again. Almost got in on the one I wanted. I hate cows. Hate em. I'm getting a cow tag next year so I can get revenge. Followed them all around the mountain as they were fighting and screaming. The bull i really wanted should be safe the rest of the year. He broke off two thirds of his right side, but he won the fight this time. During all of this I re aggravated my left hip. Had trouble just getting back to the truck. Hunts over for me. Good luck to everyone still trying to close the deal today.

I had to run into an ace in beulah sd. They had a better firearms selection then most big box places in the valley.

I know a lot of guys on here don't like vortex. Maybe bad luck? I have quite a few binos, range finders, and scopes that have taken a beating and I have never had any issues.

Maybe over closer to big lake. It's not terrible where i am. I see nice bulls everyday. Just not as active as the last time I had this hunt.

The rain and cooler temps didn't really do anything here. They are bugling now, bit I didn't bring my night vision with me. Hopefully things will be better in the morning. I'm shooting the first elk with antlers I see now.

Finally getting some rain in 1. Had multiple stalks a day blown by crunchy ground and minimal shade. Or maybe I just suck at hunting. Anyway, damp ground, cloud cover, and 15 degrees cooler should change things.

It is. But I've never seen a bull that dark. I was gonna go after him towards the the end of the hunt if I didn't have something better by then.

I think someone got him. I've been following that herd for a few days and have not seen him.

The elk got the jump on me this morning. I could never get in front of them. Cows still not giving it up. Bulls shut down around 8. I did get to see my #1 and 2 bulls fighting. That alone has made the trip worth it so far. I know where the are bedded again so hopefully they will follow the same route back out.

Been after this guy for a few days. Finally put him to bed this morning. I sat on him all day and rushed my stalk due to some road hunters hearing his bugles. Hopefully he comes back. Every time he would try to mount a cow they'd run off and he get pissed and charge the other cows and destroy every tree around him. There is still little to no action from 0900 to 1630. Don't know why its upside-down.
