Planned this trip for months. Bought two extra kayaks for the kids. Get up to Hondah to buy our permits just to be told that reservation, pacheta, etc. are all closed due to fire danger. Had to stay on the 260 corridor. Went to horseshoe and it was a complete mess. Campers everywhere. Ended up camping at A1. Lots of small stockers, about 6 to 8 inches. Biggest one was 13. Hit bog tank for a few hours. Dirty, dirty, dirty place. My buddy actually reeled in a used tampon. That was when we could fish between the wind and rain. Still a good trip, just didn't get to go where we wanted to.

My son walked away shaken but physically OK. The person that pulled out in front of him was extracted and spent some time in the hospital. Still don't know if that individual has been released yet. If he were in a newer vehicle he would not been alive. The first responders could not believe he was not seriously injured.
