I never took bow hunting very serious. I would buy a tag mainly just to get out in the woods. I would practice sometimes but never got after it really hard. I didn't shoot my bow for over two years and now I have a unit 1 early bull tag. Got restrung and starting hitting the range. I shot 20 yards for 3 hours then 30 for three hours all the way out to 50. My accuracy has improved and I'm feeling good about how I am shooting except for 30 yards and 50 yards. No consistency whatsoever. The only thing common to the issue is that both of those pins are red. Does this make any sense? Has anyone else had issues with pin colors or do I just need to practice more?

kidso thanks for the offer. Maybe when I get back to town I'll take you up on that. Thats not very far from me.

I now think its a combination of fatigue and concentrating on the pin instead of the target. I'm going to do a lot of shooting over next week so hopefully I can figure it out.

Thanks ill give that a try

My poor puppy was out today with the kids in the pool. He burned his pads pretty good. Anyone have any home remedies to make him more comfortable while he heals up? Its not bad enough for vet care but I want him to be as comfortable as possible.

Make me some offers. I'm moving soon and don't need to take this with me.

I'll have to pay attention next time im out. Ill just jump right in at longer distances first to see whats goin on. Im sure its fatigue or getting frustrated at my lack of accuracy getting to me.

I feel your pain. Lucky for me I got archery tags this year and won't have to push my old cases to the limit till next year.

Make me an offer/trade. Hate to see a bow collecting dust in the garage when a new archer could be learning on it.

I am also surprised im not the only one. I have wanted to post something for a long time but thought it might rub people the wrong way. I should have known better because the majority of the people on this forum awesome.

That explains the slurry tankers I saw flying out of Williams gateway while havin a few xx in the pool. We are heading to alpine over the fourth for some r&r and early scouting in unit 1. This is not good. Hopefully they get this contained asap. I have a tag this year in 1 early archery but im not to concerned about my tag they need to get this fire out for our kids to enjoy that area in the future.

My dad tried to force me to go to church, even tho he was too busy to go himself. After a few weeks my mom quit making me go. I went to a christian school for two years and they tried forcing their beliefs down my throat. It didn't work so they expelled me. That turned me off to religion all together. I do not believe in religion or god. Like some of you have mentioned I just try to be the best person I can be. My kids are free to practice whatever they want as long as it is really their choice and have not been talked into or out of anything. People have tried to get my kids to go to church with them while they were in scouts. They didn't want to because they felt they were being pushed into it because the entire pack or whatever its called was all of the same faith and they felt on the outside. They never went back to scouts after that by their own choice. I have no problem with people talking to myself or my children about their faith and what they believe. But don't force it, and don't ring my doorbell. Religious beliefs are a touchy subject that needs careful approach, and when done correctly you can have a great conversation about it. My wife feels the same as I do so I can't really say how we would get along if it were different. I think as long as people are open and don't chastise others for what they believe or don't believe we can all pretty much get along.

Prime America Financial services?
ctafoya replied to Couzer's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
They try to get you to invest with their company, sell you mortgage insurance, and term life insurance. Save yourself some time and money and just be smart with your own finances. They will also try to get you to work for them. -
When I was into doing that(before my kids came along) we would always take obvious trails and clean up whatever we found along the way. We would always come out with a bed full of TV's beer cans or whatever we came across along our way. Like chef said, its the few that make people or groups look bad.

ideas on a rifle for my daughter
ctafoya replied to 4Falls's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Look for whatever ammo/reloading components are more readily available. That's where I'd start.
