Horrible comercials.

The law is spot on and is that way for a reason. If the penalties were not harsh, more people wouldn't be as careful when taking an animal from a group. When my wife got her cow this year she was with about 25 other cows and several bulls. Took two hours to get what we felt was a safe shot. We were not going to risk being in the situation you found yourself in. The penalties are fair. I found myself on the black last year catching crayfish and a game warden rolled up. I mistakenly did not have my license on me. I got wrote a ticket, went to court, plead guilty to a class 2 misdemeanor, and paid my fine. You can bet I will not ever be without my license on me and copies in my pack ever again. lesson learned, even though its sometimes the hard way.

Seems like it. All of my reloading components for that caliber i had to order. Nobody had anything in stock. Its been very frustrating.

I just had to order some from midway. Couldnt find em anywhere.

So I was able to pick up my wife's ruger American predator right before Christmas. All my reloading goodies should be here in the next day or two. Just looking for a starting point. Looking to do some ladder tests this weekend.Thanks

Thanks, lots of good responses. I've lived rural before coming to AZ. I grew up in NM between Belen and Mountainair. I never have gotten used to houses not being separated by less then a 3/4 mile. My wife was born and raised in Mesa. All the kids have been in the same school since kindergarten. That's why we gotta wait a few more years. I know they have a better shot at a scholarship here then in a more rural school district. My wife's parents live in Alpine and we have kicked that around, but its just a little too far from the convenience my wife likes, and the airports. I have thought about the Midwest and further east due to a lower cost of living. The problems for me is I need to be around mountains, and further east is just overpopulated. With all my miles from flying I think we need to take a few trips and see the lay of the land in a few areas. Boise area with an airport close by, northern Idaho with an airport in Spokane, and what I really want to check out is around Kalispell Montana. They have an airport that looks like it would work. I think a two hour drive to an airport would be about as far out as I want to go.

Some hometown officiating for the pats and it looks like the Vikings forgot there was a football game today. Gonna be another year I have no reason to watch the super bowl.

So i am having an issue locating a modified case for 6.5. I have some new brass ready to load, and a box im going to shoot just to get the rifle sighted in. I was going to just make my own as i have the tolls to do it. Should i use a new unfired case, or a once fired?

So i was down at sportsmans yesterday finishing up ome shopping, and that included a rifle. After waiting what seemed longer then usual, my background check came back delayed. Dude at the counter said they would call me in three days to come pick it up. Never had this happen to me. The only thing i can think of is Im undergoing another background check for TSA for precheck. This ever happen to anyone? Hopefuly this gets cleared up soon so i can get all the goodies wrapped and under the tree in time.

Anybody ever try it with Elk?

It came out ok. No complaints from anyone. No leftovers. A little soggy at the bottom. I think I will use beef next time tho. Save the elk for the grill.
