Nice job. Doubles are fun. Espetialy after the the high fives when you realize your plan of one person helping the other haul the deer out is not going to work.lol 2009 me and a buddy knocked down 2 mulies within a minute of each other.

You can tell lark is worked up when he starts using proper grammer. Lol How does an animal escape an area that has no fences.
-
That's good cause before long the mexican gray wolfs will be the only animal in the state with populations high enough to sustain hunting. But the fed will never allow it.

cracked base on .270 cartridge

if the brass is from this 270 as stated earler neck size only. I have found it to be a more consistent final product its easer to do and the brass will ladt much longer. I have some 300wm brass that is on its 9 loading. -
As long as it takes for me to find him

Yep next time I'm in the area ill bring tissues

I had a wolf hippie tell me a month ago that there was only 47 left in the state. I argued with him a bit but I think he was to stoned to understand what I was saying. I've seen two in 27 on last years turkey hunt. Close enought to sancarlos to asume they have infested the res as well.

Sound like some kinda french warrior.lol I'm glad I'm not the only one who misses. I normaly drill the killl zone or miss the target. If your not first your last.

And on that note ill will begin hunting harder when its windy. Nice buck. what's the spread from main beam to main beam? -
I drew a ham hunt for javelina this spring. I will have bow in hand but my dad is not a bowhunter and is most likely worst with a hand gun so I have borrowed a knight inline muzzle loader. I just picked up some 250g power belts a box of triple 7 50/50 some 209s and tc foaming cleaner. Ill need to teach my self then teach my dad. Any pointers or tip as far as loading/reloadiing. Mantnaince and shooting would be helpful

Damit, now you got me all hot and bothered and season doesn't open for a week.

that terrible. I've been shooting gold tips xt hunters and id say they are the toughest arrows I seen. I've hit an aluminum boat, my travel trailer, my shed and a block wall and most survived. Kind of a long story about the misses but I've leared if you change your draw leanth a little it moves your sites quite a bit. Lol

Id say your the 5th person to recomend bh209. The rifles owner did not mention it but he did tell me that he been using triple 7 50/50 with good results. I alread got the 50/50 but I think I shot that and if its not to my liking you'll be gettin a pm. I did have to boil the breach plug 3 times to clear the flash hole. Just lookin at the bulets and the speen they are movin id imagin it shot knock the snot out of a javelina.

If your going have a long hike its best to make worth your while. And that looks like a worth while trip I was just out on a late bull hunt (nov26-2) and i ll tell you every down tree branch looks like a shed even more with a litte dusting of snow.lol

+1 If you are planning on a 700y shot and you have a 20x scope, I can guarantee a once in a lifetime buck trys to sneek out of the canyon your in at 100y and its difficult to try to find hin in the scope/or turn down the zoom....ask me how I know.

Well done. You've got to be dam proud to put a deer cape in the back seat of your truck.

Kids are fun to hunt with. If their into it there is a spark in their eyes that can be seen only when hunting or talking about hunting I miss my brother.
-
Also the buck to acre ratio is lower here. It could be too the sign your finding is from does.assuming there are little to no bucks in the area now its not such a bad thing. If there's does using the area come rut time them sneaky sob's will show up out of no where.

Is that a turd in mid drop in the last pic??

You are very welcome. But it was my pleasure to serve this nation. I hope all veterans have a nice day. I normaly go to redlobster on verteran day and pay for the meal of the first veteran hat I see. Today will be no diferant.

Slate and box calls are the easyest to make realistic sounds with little practice. As for locater calls I like a crow call in the dark(night or morning) Turkeys are pray to every thing that eats meat. Fox owl coytoe crow calls will get them to shock gobble to warn others. They are more likly to do so when they are roosted as it gives there position away but they feel safe in a tree. And they fly down hill amd walk up hill.

I've never hunted the unit either but if it were me I would scout near the east centeral part of the unit.

http://www.javelinahunter.com/ This website has a lot of general javelina hits and tips. Make sure you look through all the tabs on the left hand side. I'm not sure if you have ever hunted javelina before but for me I live to hunt. Just about any thing. Dove quail turkey deer elk. I've always taken my big game hunts (deer and elk) extreamly serious. I. Very much enjoy them but when it comes to javelina its always been differant. I always have more fun. It may be that my dads always with me cause he does not hunt deer or that i feel less presure to make a kill. I can never quite put my finger on it. But I love to hunt javelinas, not any more or less than any thing else, its just differant. I have been rained on and had tag soup on more javelina hunts than any other hunt. I too drew a ham hunt this year it will be my first time trying with just a bow.
