The name is escaping me at the moment but it's about a 100yards from my shop so I'll look this after noon

Flat tarp and a bivy. They can be about as heavy or expensive you want . -
Antlers are porous so they absorb blood and water and grow bacteria. My buddy build me a custom knife with a coues antler I found. He used a small vacuum chamber to pull clear wood hardner into it to seal it. I'm sure there's plenty on line info about the process he made it seem like it's common among blacksmiths.

I saw that. Not that surpring from lake Mary. There's some big old cats in there

I have a 742 in 30/06. It's a similar action. It holds just under an inch with the green box Remington.

i was out over night on the 25th the carp were in the shallows but a lot of the northern coves are still alittle too murky. Saw some nice cats and some huge bass. Also saw a ton of what I think were gizzard shad. They look just like threadfin shad but some were over a foot long.

http://www.westernwhitetail.com/whitetail/coues-whitetail/ Boom it's as simple as that. They are called the grey ghost because as EVERYONE who has hunted them will tell you- they disappear. How many of us have glassed a hillside for HOURS and been 100% certain there are no deer only to see a whole herd pop out between 4-5pm. You've been there- lol they have to be spotted before they can disappear.

Did hunting at night result in more flashes/shot opportunities then what you typically got when you just hunted during daylight hours? No. I expected it to be fish in a barrel but I would say it's slower. But due to the open areas and I only called areas where there is an overlap between day long lions and day long coyotes. That overlap only happens in units near me that I would not normally hunt during normal day light be cause I don't know the areas as well and/or there are better day light areas near me. That and a steep learning curve and as edge mentioned finding a partner is much harder. Calling day long solo is to say the least an unforgettable experience. That said it's totally diferant in the dark. once you called something in identifying it is Easier than I thought it would be. Stopping them for a shot an be harder at night. I felt like coyotes came in a lot more alert and timid.
-
I've been calling coyotes and lion at night this winter. I hunt just the same as I would in the day light. I scout a spot. I hike out to it. Except I have a 1500 lumen red led zoomable light mounted to my rifle....and I wet myself ever time I hear a noise.

At 200 yards a ladder test may be difficult to interpret. Table Mesa east of I17 after you reach forest land There are several turn offs that dead end and leave you alone with a long streach of canyon to shoot into. Just don't show up at 10 am and expect to find a good spot. The time spent walking ensures you never heat up your barrel.
