This is very good advice for the OP. The bull in my avatar was found in August and I watched him for a dozen plus days, there were 5 hunts before mine and that bull was 450 yards from where I first saw him in August, my hunt was in December. Scouting well before your the hunt allows you to learn the roads, where to camp, the terrain and exactly where you are going to hunt, with at least two or three good areas. Look for places that are road less, rough, deep, thick and steep. Most hunters wont want to pack an elk out of. Where I killed that bull I have offered to take a friend who had a tag back into that area, once I showed him from about three miles out where we had to go he told me to go F**K my self. Thats the type of area you need to look for. There were two other bulls that he hung out with that were much bigger but I couldnt locate them, and I promised myself not to pass any one of the three bulls I had been watching. Good luck!. The key words In this post are steep, rough, deep. In that order. If your seeing a lot of roads scout higher in elevation.

I spoke with 3 FS employees in he last two years they all told me the rules locally are intentionally not enforced. Because the local FS leadership is not in aggreeement with the tmp.

Did you actually read the article? It states: "The meat will be distributed to the state, volunteers who participate, food banks and Indian tribes." Here's another story that says details are still being worked-out. I suppose until things are final, it's all just 'stories & articles' anyway.... http://www.guns.com/2017/09/13/national-park-service-looking-for-hunters-to-thin-bison-herd-in-grand-canyon/ Different articles word it differently likely due to the fact the final plan has not been made

Anyone make carpet archery targets
oz31p replied to Green Bullet's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
Corner archery is selling foam sections from there old back stop pretty reasonable. Strap a few together they make a great target and fairly light weight. -
Kifaru vs Stone Glacier packs... Which One??
oz31p replied to Coues Archer's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I have had the nomad for 3year. I like it a lot. I looked at the reckoning but I never pack in for more that 5 days and the reckoning is huge. I also have the woodsman with or with out a guild lid it's perfect. The woodsman and reckoning have meat shelves and snow collars that can be used as a lid or filled and used a separate lid. Mines loaded to the gills with out a lid but a full snow color with the draw string pulled close. right now for a family backing trip to chevlon canyon lake in the morning . -

Any local taxidermists have a freeze dryer?
oz31p replied to GreyGhost85's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
It took me a while to pack out in the heat so I'm having mine redone with fake velvet. Plus the last one I had "persevered" , i never really liked the way it looks.
