WE were totally unfamilar with the area that we went. Hike from one road to the other. Passed up a few small ones before me and my brother that was probally as good as it got made a great stalk and one good shot (brother) and 6 poor shots (me) before I grabbed his rifle and shot fork he got a spike. It was fun going into a totally new area and we had a great time. Good luck on your Nov. hunt. Me and my brother are headed to New Mexico tommorrow for a Muley hunt. I have to get on the ball with the butchering.
I've tagged along on my friend's WMAT (he's Apache) coues hunt more than once and he gets upset when his deer are below 110". The area he hunts borders 3-a 3-c. Their is nothing like seeing a racked buck in the snow, but it sure is cold.
Having to go in blind in a couple weeks (long story) any help with the north end would be appreciated. I'll trade info on elk in the white mountains.
Thanks
