COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL GREED AND ROBBERY!!!!!!!
jeremiahjohnson replied to a topic in Elk Hunting
Being born and raised in Tucson, I never looked at other states to hunt, AZ had all I needed. Since moving to colorado I have started applying in other western states, Wyoming, Colorado, AZ. I can tell you that AZ is about the most expensive state to hunt for both residents, and non resident hunters. 170$ license 660$ elk 242 deer.. Wyoming your 320$ deer tag is. 320$ your tag is your license. I love AZ it's home, but dang I better draw my elk tag soon cuz I can't afford it much longer -
What are my real chances for drawing a muzzy tag or early rifle tag this year with 9 points? I get the luck of the draw, but if I'm doing unit 1 & 23 I really hold no chance
-
So as a nonres, I have 9 points, my name will be in the hat 10 times for this years draw? But it only counts for my first 2 choices? Am I getting this correctly?

Berger VLD vs Barnes TTSX
jeremiahjohnson replied to azcoueshuntr's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
You can think you want to shoot those bullets, but really it what your gun wants to shoot. I have a 300 rum and I've shot 150s to 210s. I like the bergers, I want a bullet to put everything it has into the animal, not hold 98% of it's weight. I'm sure this will get all the barnes lovers all ruffled up, but whatever!! There's my 2 pesos -
Heck yeah post'em!!!

How Do You Pull Your Bow Back In Blind: TIPS?
jeremiahjohnson replied to Buck Smasher's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
How does the posi trac work on a 57' chevy? I don't know it just does!!! -
I agree with that statement, I feel that the elitists that are trying to save all the worlds creatures think they are doing the right thing, they have read the books, takin the classes, and read what others have learned and studied and added on to it as they feel is correct. Now then in this power trip country we live in, the berkinstock wearing little college granola gets out and wants to save the planet Yay!! They want to play god.. But they don't think ahead towards the repercussions of their actions. I come from a ranching family here in Az. Every week at the sale this convo comes up. Wolves have no place here in this state, I'm surprised they haven't brought back the grizzly like Ive heard mentioned. Anyway my point is.. Is the juice worth the squeeze?

I agree that the biggest live in the pines. They have been pulling some studs out of 23,22, 27,1, and isn't one of the top 10 whiteys out of 4A or 4B? My biggest Coues shed is from 4a, 59" I've seen pics of bucks that live in a small community up on the rim off Hwy 87 too. I've always believed the biggest bucks in the state live in the pines....
-
Why do people post where they see big deer, then complain when there are 400 dudes posted up in "your" spots!!! Yes there aren't giants whiteys in 37, but with oracle state park is right across the road, and they walk over.. I've seen 10 or 12 bucks over there.. Freaked me out the first time I saw a whitey over there.

Are You Crazy Enough To Run After A Mt. Lion ;)
jeremiahjohnson replied to Buck Smasher's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I was calling bears on a hunt a few years back, and I kept feeling like something was watching me. Stupid me I was solo, ground calling for bears in thick timber. New to hunting bears I now know that I had no idea of what I was doing, still don't I feel. But anyway, after about 45 minutes of calling I still felt that something was watching me, and then I caught a glimpse of it on my right about 60yds out. Then I saw it on my left, then it was at about 40 yds and I saw it was a dog so I figured yote, then I realized how big this dog was and how it had the tell tale diamond head. It was one of our prized grey wolfs. I watched it for a while. But then realized that it was looking for a dying fawn aka me.. Once I stood up and started getting my stuff together it took off. -
My vote would be Devin Beck, uses the best tannery, best of everything, and the anatomy is spot on.. Super clean mounts.. If you have a chance check out his shop!
-
This is a joke right?? Heaven forbid a wolf gets it's butt kicked in a fight, you can't mention natural selection, but we the hunters will take the blame because the granolas are already pointing fingers!! Wolfs are a waste of time and money, why spend millions to save one animal when in all honesty we the hunters spend more to save all animals!! Stupid.

If you are looking for a bear in 27, best bet is somewhere nobody is running dogs, water and find a food source.. Grass, berries, oaks, start in low elevation and work your way up.
