Jason, Unit 27 is far and away the best unit in NM for numbers of whitetail deer, the terrain is similar to what you would find in the Chiricauhas, the middle of the unit is all national forest and should be free access. You can actually cut through 27 into the arizona side. There is only private property on the fringes of the unit. Good Luck AG
