Still plenty of spots open if you would like to play and pledge to yourself (even if you don't want to ask others to pledge to you, it is a great opportunity). $36 is right about the current summer discounted rate that you can get. In peak season it is over $130/round and the normal rate for right now is over $60/round. If you can make it on July 12th (two weeks from today) the family would be grateful. Remember, nothing is too small to help them out. Dale

Hey everyone, Plenty of spots still open for the tourney. Ocotillo is a great course and if you can make it just pledge $36 to your game and play a great course for a great cause. Dale

Wanted to add the following info because I didn't make it too clear in the original post... If you go to the site with my name, it is just to make a pledge to my game. If you want to play, you need to go to the site on the PDF, which is http://integritygolfsolutions.com/, it will let you sign up and then you can search for the event. It is the only event they have going on in AZ right now, so it should be easy to find. Then, you can play and have people pledge towards your game. Dale

I’ll add my two cents, even though it isn’t worth much based on my experience The coues I shot last year (my first hunt) was at 405 yds with a slight (and I mean slight) cross wind from right to left. It was easily my longest shot ever even attempted. I used my brother-in-laws gun (300 RUM on turrets with a swaro scope. Not sure on the scope, but I could basically see the deer’s snot) and had only really used it previous to help sight it in and take some practice shots, all at 100 yds or less. So, I agree that if you have the right equipment, the shot isn’t that far. Especially with turrets, I just turned the dial and held it slightly to the right of where I wanted to hit him. The wind on this shot, that would take it out of the question for me, even with that gun. I have since purchased a Weatherby 270 with a Leupold VXIII and wouldn’t even attempt the shot I made last year with that gun (yet). My max is probably going to be 250-300 with no significant wind.

I have a few items in the garage that I haven't used for a while, and probably won't use again for a while. 24 foot Werner aluminum extension ladder. The ladder is in good condition. It has been used, so there are signs of use (stickers worn off, paint, etc) but it is in structurally great condition. The load capacity is 225 lbs. I can get you some pictures if you are interested, but here is a very similar ladder to it on amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/Werner-D1224-2-225-P...n/dp/B00004RKC3. Would like to get $150 for it. JT Excellerator 3.5 paintball gun. I haven't used it in a few years, but it still works fine and there are no leaks (just hooked it up a few days ago to check). It comes with the gun, stock barrel, an 18 or 24 inch 'sniper' barrel (can't remember the exact length, and I don't have it right now), 20oz CO2 tank, mask, 2 barrel cleaners, and a ball hopper. The gun is black with silver connections. Again, I will send pictures if you are interested, probably in the next few days I'll post them on here. Would like to get $75 for the setup. It is similar to this package (same exact gun) but add the sniper barrel and the 20oz CO2 rather than the 9oz... http://www.directpaintball.com/JT-Exceller...ages-P6573.aspx I will also consider trades for one or both items. Would like to get a good hunting backpack, not overly concerned with brand, but it needs to have a dedicated place for a rifle and would like an internal frame pack. Also looking for some decent binos, but nothing high end. I've had my eyes on Nikon Monarch 12x56. I don't really want anything smaller or bigger than that, but if you have something let me know and I may change my mind. I am in the south east valley and I can deliver the paintball gun anywhere in the valley or even to yuma (next week) or tucson (two weeks from now). However, you'll need to come get the ladder if you want it.

I just got into hunting last year and I am looking to purchase my first rifle. I am looking for a 270 or 300 short mag, nothing smaller and nothing bigger... I have looked at a few different models by Remington, Winchester, Tikka, Savage, etc... I don't have an overall preference, but I can tell you I'm not a fan of the bolt action on the Savage compared to the others I have looked at, but that doesn't mean I would rule it out. Also, I am looking for a scope too. Preferrably a Leuopold or Nikon (don't care if it is the Buckmaster or Pro Staff). I would like something that is in the 4.5-14x40(or 50) range, but would consider the 3-9x40(or 50). Does anybody have anything they are looking to sell? I am not looking to break the bank, probably looking in the $400-$700 range for the rifle and scope. If you have something you want more for, let me know, I am not against spending more for something good. Also, my brother-in-law lives for hunting, so he'll be helping with this purchase. Just a warning so you don't think you can pull one over on me PM me or post it here... Thanks!

Thanks for all those that helped in the search, gave me advice, and offered their stuff to me. I found a rifle on this website and I think I got a great deal. Weatherby Vanguard .270 with a Leupold VXIII 4.5-14x40 scope. Total cost for the package was $600. Next up is either some binos or a rangefinder. Not in the market yet, but will hopefully be in the market soon Dale

Hey guys, Thanks for all the info so far, I appreciate it... The more info I have the better off I am (I think ) I have been offered a Weatherby 300 WSM and a Remington 700 SPS 300 WSM. Anybody have any experience or feelings on either of these guns? Also, haven't been offered a Tikka yet, but I like the way they look and feel. Anybody have thoughts on those? Just to give you my experience, I shot the deer in my picture with a 300 Ultra Mag and the recoil didn't bother me at all. To tell you the truth, it could have knocked me off the rock I was laying on and I wouldn't have noticed because I was so jacked up (which is why I am diving into hunting head first). However, even when I shot it to sight it in a few weeks before the hunt, the recoil didn't bother me. I've had some people swear by a 300 wsm while others say 270 is more than enough for coues and the occasional elk hunt.
