I would usually agree with you about it being a done deal. BUT, more than any G&F issue in the past few years, this seems to me to be generating the most controversy. On this thread, lets start to try to put together a email address list of all the appropriate people to complain to. ( G&F and state government) AND I MEAN COMPLAIN! I truly think that we just might have enough hunters angry about this issue that we may be able stop this one from being rammed down our throats. I'll get the email list started: BWakeling@azgfd.gov (Brian Wakeling) AMunig@azgfd.gov (Amber Munig) ccook@azgfd.gov (Celeste Cook) Rulemaking@azgfd.gov Let's all contribute any worthwhile email address to this thread. In a week or so, we can all fire off our opposition to everyone on the list. Does anyone have email addresses to any of the commissioners, Mr. Napy, or our soon to be new governor? Let's make enough noise that they have to grease this squeaky wheel! In the mean time, start working on your letters. You guys that don't bait but hunt water, don't think that this issue won't effect you. If bait is banned, a whole bunch of former baiters will probably be showing up to "your" water hole to hunt. Maybe after the email barrage will start a telephone call barrage. Mark

Urgent: baiting input needed into G&F today!

It's still good to raise a fuss while they are "just thinkin about it". Thanks to all who called and emailed. Let's keep up the pressure! Mark -
I got the pig and turkey tags today. Mark

Guys, According to a source at G&F, as of this morning (Thursday), they had only received 10 emails/phone calls about the baiting issue. 8 were in favor of the ban, 2 were against. We definitely need more calls/emails into G&F voicing opposition against the new rule before tomorrow morning. Please drop everything and call or email Celeste Cook 623-236-7390 ccook@azgfd.gov and voice your opposition. The commissioners will considering this input tomorrow when they decide whether or not to proceed on the new rule. Please do it now!! Sorry for the duplicate post, this topic has really gotten scattered around several threads. Mark

Seriously, there have been several threads in the past about the !&$^@ bowhunters getting in the way of the rifle hunters. I don't have a solution. All I know is the more infighting we have between bow hunters and rifle hunters, the easier it will be for G&F to dump their autocratic bs on all of us. Mark

That's right! Let's have the rifle hunters and bow hunters fight it out!! Along with salt, let's ban the laser range finders, high power spotting scopes, and fancy turrent scopes that let you shoot out to 800 yards. That's not hunting! That's lazy!! Divided we will fall. Mark But if you shoot from at least 185.56 yards, with only a 4x scope, and do not glass for more that 27 minutes before you find a buck, you are ok. These are my hunting ethics, and if you don't follow them, you are lazy and unethical. We need new G&F regulations to enforce these ethical rules!! Mark

All you evil bowhunters who kill, PLEASE PLEASE be sure to put down the CORRECT unit you kill in so Mr. Day and statistics "experts" at G&F can come up with more bogus data to promote their underLYING agenda. You certainly would not want to put down the wrong unit, say some unit with a very low success rate. Why, that might actually make the mandatory archery reporting success rates as suspect as the voluntary reporting kill statistics. If that happened, how could G&F keep comparing apples to oranges? I agree with TAM. I think anything less than a 9mm is underpowered for self defense. Not only with stopping power, but with a 2 or 3" barrel, your ability to hit anything past a few yards decreases significantly. But, if you are stuck on smaller, there are a few pocket 380's out there. Check out a colt pony or an AMT DAO. I have both, I don't know why, I would not use them for self defense. Good luck sorting out the compromise. Mark

That's a bummer man, sorry that happened to you. A few years back, a friend and I came out of mall store to find a guy trying to remove my friends car stereo. The thief had parked along side of our car, engine running, door open, and was underneath my friend's dash board as we walked up. My friend ran around to the other door, and started to thump on the guy's face. I couldn't reach anything vital, but the thief's legs were hanging out the door, so I started slamming the door on his legs as hard as I could. We kept thumping on the guy, and I can still see that guy's face! His eyes were as big as silver dollars, his face completely terrified! I had two car stereos ripped off from me in years past, so I was really enjoying some payback. We struggled with the guy for about a minute, as he dragged us into his car so he could drive away. I let go of him and ran around to the other side of his car and shut off his engine and took the keys. Finally, the guy slipped out of our hands (he was real greasy) and ran off faster than a coues deer. We called the cops and they finally showed up an hour later. They ran the thief's car, got a name, but they refused to do anything and left. We were a little upset with Tempe's finest. We happened to have a pair of wire cutters, so we did a little re-wiring, or un-wiring of the thief's car. We cut every wire we could reach under the dash and around the engine. We felt much better when we were done. That car sat there at least 6 months before it was towed away. Anyway, those guys who stole your trailer, some time some day, they will get theirs. Good luck to you, Mark

Fall Turkeys are tough for a full mount. Here is a picture of a Fall Turkey Sven Eberson did for me a few years ago. This is probably the most that you can do with a Fall turkey. (there is a gap in the feathers because that's where I hit it, and asked him to leave it that way.) Sven is doing two Spring archery turkeys for me right now, one flying, one struttin. Sven only does birds and he is an expert. His backyard is filled 100s of live birds, including turkeys, that he uses to model for his taxidermy. He is located in Glendale. It's worth it to go see him just to see the live Turkeys. One is always struttin, and you can walk right up to it. (I think it's a Texas bird, so it's legal) Here is a picture that I took of him. Yes, that is a live turkey! I have Sven's phone number at work, so if you want it, PM me and I'll get it to you on Monday. Mark

Some how, trusting the media to defend the constitution just don't seem right. Mark -
obama's qualifications
bowsniper replied to bowsniper's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
That's just a little too passive, sheep like. The media loves him so much, I wonder if they would actually disclose anything bad on him. Like the LA times refusing to release the tape of obama snuglin with some bad people. Mark -
http://www.onenewsnow.com/Politics/Default.aspx?id=315364 The Times of London reports that the president-elect sought out New Hampshire homosexual bishop Vicki Gene Robinson for advice three times during his presidential campaign. Robinson, whose ordination in the Episcopal Church has caused a deep rift within the Anglican Communion, was reportedly sought out by Obama to discuss what it feels like to be "first."
