Any Bulls in the late archery yet?

Congrats to the lucky ones! This hunt is being offered to (forced on) us bowhunters so G&F can reduce and take away our rut hunt tags. If all bowhunters stopped putting in for this almost impossible hunt, we could force g&f stop reducing our rut hunt tags. Something to consider. Mark

    DIRTBAG ARCHERY ELK HUNTER

This has to be one of the most worthless, ignoramus threads I have ever seen on cwt.com
  3. From the web page at: http://action.afa.net/Detail.aspx?id=2147486887 Naughty or Nice? AFA's 2009 listing of top retailers and how they recognize Christmas Based on current advertising, below is a list of companies that avoid, ban, or use the term "Christmas" in their advertising. We will continually update the list, so check back often. Criteria - AFA reviewed up to four areas to determine if a company was "Christmas-friendly" in their advertising: print media (newspaper inserts), broadcast media (radio/television), website and/or personal visits to the store. If a company's ad has references to items associated with Christmas (trees, wreaths, lights, etc.), it was considered as an attempt to reach "Christmas" shoppers. If a company has items associated with Christmas, but did not use the word "Christmas," then the company is considered as censoring "Christmas." SPECIAL ALERT! AFA is calling for a "Christmas" boycott of Gap, Old Navy and Banana Republic stores. Companies FOR "Christmas" Company uses the term "Christmas" on a regular basis, we consider that company Christmas-friendly. 4. I heard a new politically correct term on the news last night. The Bible is now being referred to as "a religious book". I think that I'm going to lose it............................... Mark

    Veterans Day

To all Veterans, current members of the US military, and family members: Thank You! Thank you for protecting our freedom. Thank you for sacrificing time away from you families, thank you for putting your lives in danger, and thank you for sacrificing your lives so we in America can live free and normal lives. Actually, just saying "thank you" is really inadequate. Mark
  6. The United States Military has been infiltrated by terrorists. It would seem appropriate to do a back ground check on all potential US military terrorists (Muslims) and discharge any that were questionable. Somehow, with the spineless Commander and Chief we have, I really doubt that would happen. He would rather risk the lives of our troops than risk hurting anyone's feelings. Mark

    A Month Before Christmas

You are pouring gas on a fire! This one drives me nuts! A few years back, some exec from my companies corporate came out to our facility a week or two before CHRISTmas. The suit wanted to shake everyone's hand, so all 2000 of us stood in a line for the germ transfer. When he got to me he said "Happy Holidays!!!". I said, "Merry Christmas!!!" The suit gave me a funny look and said, "Oh, it's so hard to tell". And I said, "not really, when 96% of the people in the US celebrate Christmas in some way, it's a pretty safe bet". I really expected to be looking for new job after CHRISTmas, but nothing ever came of it. HE is taking care of me! Another one that is driving me nuts is BCE (before common event) For 2000 years it has been BC, before Christ. Even though all historians and most religions believe that Christ really did walk on earth 2000 years ago, it's just another move to purge the word "Christ" from the language. At least this year Walmart is using the "Christmas in their advertising. Mark

    sycamore canyon?

You would be better off letting a buddy or the forum know. Don't rely on the FS for saftey. Which sycamore canyon? There 5 or 6 in AZ. Have a great time! Mark

    Fort Hood

I think that your 75% stat is a little misleading for a body count. Maybe 300 dead by so called "American" terrorists, and almost 3000 dead, 10:1, for the Muslim terrorists. Your Wiki article also forgot to mention the terrorist attacks at Ruby Ridge and Waco. Mark

That is just amazing!! And pitiful!!!! I really have to wonder is there is any hope for the USA. Mark

What I am suggesting is a background check, like I or anyone else has to have before, as a civilian, you can do work for the military. And the occasional re-checks that we get. That is security profiling. How can it be avoided? We may not be fighting a religious war, but our enemy is. As far as the U.S internment camps of WWII, the U.S. did what was necessary at the time. At least the U.S. took care of the people in the internment camps, unlike the Japanese, who put Americans and other foreigners into concentration camps, where civilians were forced into slave labor, starved, tortured, and murdered. We are always quick to condemn ourselves for the U. S. internment camps, but everyone seems to have forgotten how the Japanese and Germans "handled" it on their side. Mark
  12. Saturday would probably be better for a lot of people, but it's set up for Tuesday, and we'll have to keep it there. Sorry. I would like to thank Kurt Larson, "GodIsGood", for donating the live, fat turkeys to the auction! Mark
  13. Hey Guys, Desert Christian Archers, National Wild Turkey Federation, and friends are putting on a raffle and auction to benefit Marvin's wife, Barbara. Marvin passed away two weeks ago just after taking a muzzle loader buck in 6A. Marvin was one of the Top Turkey Hunters and Guides in the Country. Up for action will be live turkeys (just in time for Thanksgiving), guns, a new living room sofa set, and various hunting related stuff. Also, Marvin's turkey hunting calls, CD's, DVD's, and other Timberline products will be on sale. There will be a Turkey dinner for $5.00. Even if you didn't personally know Marvin, plan to attend for the auction and everything else. Everyone is welcome! If you have something that you would like to donate to the auction, please send me a PM. Thanks and God Bless, Mark Marvin_Robbins_Tribute_Banquet.pdf Marvin_Robbins_Tribute_Banquet.doc

    Pray for Marvin Robbins' family

Marvin's funeral was today. While it was sad at times, it truly was a celebration of his life. More than anything, it was a celebration of Marvin going home to Christ! One of Marvin's close friends, Don Hawkins, flew in from Alabama to speak at the service. Don is president of Southeastern Bible College. While Don was speaking, I was stunned to hear some familiar things about Marvin. Don read THIS THREAD from CWT.com during the service! I introduced myself and Troy to Don after the service. He told us that before traveling to Phoenix, he Googled Marvin's name, and this thread from CWT popped up. He was so moved by these posts, he included them in the service. Your posts about Marvin really touched everyone at the service. God Bless! Mark

    Pray for Marvin Robbins' family

Marvin loved his wife Barbara, his family, and hunting (especially turkey!) But more than anything else, he loved the Lord. He was like a father to me. He taught me how to hunt turkey, but more importantly, he taught me about Christ. He baptized my entire family and me. He was more than ready to go home to Christ, but we weren't ready to let him go. Mark FATHER GOD, WE REJOICE THAT MARVIN IS AT HOME WITH YOU! WE SELFISHLY LONG FOR HIM TO BE WITH US, BUT WE KNOW THAT YOUR PLAN IS PERFECT AND HE IS RIGHT WHERE HE SHOULD BE, WITH YOU. PLEASE COMFORT HIS WIFE BARBARA AND HIS FAMILY. PLEASE GIVE STRENGTH TO MARVIN'S FRIENDS TO CARE FOR AND SUPPORT BARBARA. IN JESUS' NAME, AMEN.

    Wolf tag

Hey lark, Maybe you meant to call me a “moron”? “Maroon” is a reddish brown color. Kinda makes you wonder who the moron is. Anyway, if you want to see another stupid thing in life and a real "moron" at the same time, just take a look in the mirror. Mark

    Wolf tag

I've got news for you Lark: Admitting on a public forum, monitored by G&F, that you shoot wolves, ain't too smart. Sooner or later, they will catch you, especially because you can't keep your mouth shut.

    Wolf tag

Lark, I think that you are pressing your luck. Some day, G&F is going to catch you using your wolf tags in unit 27. It's just a matter of time. Mark

    Dilemma

If you really think he is a guide, he probably has plan A through Z spots. This is only one of them. I agree, flagging is trash, and should be cleaned up. Go and have a good opening day. First come, first served. Mark

    coues deer question

Find the does before the rut, and you will be set for a good rut hunt. You will definitely see big bucks during the rut passing through, but he won't stick around if that group of does are not in estrus. The best time to hunt is when that particular group of does go into estrus. The buck will be chasing, tending, and mounting does. If you hit that right, you will never forget it! A group of does may only be in estrus for 36 to 48 hours, and it could be any time mid December through January. Most groups of does usually go into estrus together over a few days. Watch the doe tarsal gland. When it starts to turn from dark brown to more black, they are close. Mark
  24. Come'on, lets get more dates to confuse inline more! Mark
  25. I don't know about 30A, but further North, the peak can be different every year. Any where between the 3rd week of December to 2nd week of January. It's a crap shoot. Good luck! Mark
