This post is a reminder - I need to swim more. Laps are killer cardio and it works everything.

Well... I unapologetically took 12 days off from the workout routine. My buddies all checked out for vacations and I just checked out - slept in every day. Went back to it 3 days ago this past Friday and surprisingly didn't notice much a loss of cardio. Went back Saturday for an incline hike at a gym and then hiked South Mountain on Sunday afternoon/evening (it was hot but not humid - not bad hiking weather really and the park was 99% empty). I'll get back to lifting tomorrow. Archery Elk is 12 weeks out - I don't have a tag for that but I have an invite. Don't need to be slackin' now.

I just sold one to a gentleman and his wife. He was hesitating and his wife said "you wanted to buy one when there was election worry and it was much more expensive - get it now" He's an owner. I've got to agree with her - I saw a guy buy a DPMS post ban with a fixed carry handle for $1700 after Sandy Hook. $399 is the right deal.

A gentleman came in with the Bass Pro Father's Day ad and wanted to know if we: Had the gun he wanted buy - yes we did Would match the BP sale price? Once he saw our everyday price tag was lower than the big box retail sale flyer, it was a no-brainer and we sold him the gun. He has his new gun. We have a new customer. Win / Win. No need to wait for a sale. What's pictured is very common - and when our everyday price is compared to the big box everyday prices it's normally not even close.

Milestone

Got stagnant for a couple weeks. Went on vacation and didn't watch the calories like I had been. Didn't go in reverse - just got in a rut. Dedication to the workouts has not been a problem for a while - I'm not perfect on 5 days a week but more often than not I make that number or even 6. Eating and food quality can be a pain in the backside. When I stay dedicated to MyFitnessPal and food quality the midsection shrinks. When I add high calorie food (delicious Mexican food covered in cheese) progress stops. If I add ANY amount of beer progress goes backwards (that's on the devil/avoid list). Reality for a guy nearing 50. Watch every aspect everyday or get frustrated. At this rate though, December elk will be outstanding.
