  3. One of our customers on his 2013 Amistad New Mexico hunt. In a hunting category dominated by bolt rifles, he opted for his large platform .308 Win AR semi-automatic. No problem - a single well-placed shot handled it.

And several others that were crude with the misguided idea they were witty
  7. No RL22 currently - we just got another powder shipment and anything in the Alliant brand is apparently scarce Powders we have that have similar burn rates are: Norma MRP - we have several single pounds - CLICK HERE FOR LOAD DATA IMR7828 - 10 singles and an 8lb jug - CLICK HERE FOR LOAD DATA
  8. X-Terminator - 8lb jug - one left The only 4350 burn rate we have currently is Accurate brand
  9. We have plenty of TAC The only GMM primers we have are 205 Small Rifle
  10. Negative - but, I know that's a hot one and I will post on here when I have it. For comparison sake - the powder that falls on the same burn-rate line is Ramshot Magnum - I have 6 one-pounders of that on the shelf.
  11. and 59 cent box of .22 shells at Yellow Front (and we could walk down there, rifle in hand, to buy them and NO ONE called the police or checked ID - AND the big one - NO ONE shot up a school) and 74 cent gas (getting out 4-wheeling didn't break the bank) and the days when the music of my high school and college years was NOT on the "classic" station "progress"
  12. I wish I had enough room to discount it even more. We thought about case discounts but most of our guests buy by the box and we wanted to give all budgets a break. So we looked at Midway, Walmart & the big box outdoor stores on the east & west side and went lower. And yes. We'll have your favorite waterfowl loads on sale when it's time. Fasteel, Black Cloud, Hevi, Blindside & others. Turkey?? Yeah. We'll do that too.

What Caliber to get??? - Need Suggestions

I'm with Nick on this - a short action gun is fine for your intended quarry and it's comfortable to shoot. And you get the option to move away from a bolt action rifle and into an large caliber AR semi-auto platform (if you're so inclined). I reluctantly made the switch to an LR308 AR repeating rifle almost 10 years ago now and have shot whitetails, pronghorn, mountain lion, coyotes, gray fox, bobcats, prairie dogs, etc. Now I'm hooked - I have several lower receivers with different triggers, grips, & stocks and enough upper assemblies in different calibers to cover any hunting situation including elk (300 Remington SAUM or a .308 shooting 180gr bonded bullets) Very versatile & accurate and you can build your gun just the way you like it - Lego's for kids over 18. You can get it chambered in 308, 260, 243, 7mm-08, 6.5 Creedmoor and a host of other custom things - 308 and 243 being the more common. I never worry about the finish on the gun rain or shine, the wood stock can't get chipped because it doesn't have one, and they're easy to maintain & clean. Add to list of benefits quick followup shots and the AR is a great multipurpose field gun that's sometimes left out of the conversation.
  15. Hi Scott, We'll have to do a side-by-side comparison of the callers as available to the end-user - you know how WT is about their sounds. And hey - a large percentage of the Mighty Atom magic is in the quality of the sounds. Put them on them on the MA playback system and it's fantastic. Next time you're rolling by, bring that caller over and let's do some howling - I want to hear that thing Healy
  16. This needs no flowery explanation. The guy wanted a very reasonable amount for this pistol - we're passing it along. The gun: Smith & Wesson M&P - Part Number 209300 Caliber: 40 S&W Magazines: Comes with Four 15-Rounders Barrel: 4.25" Comes with: Original Carry Case, x-tra grip back straps, lock, AND a Kydex Holster Condition: Outstanding Original Sctsdl Gun Club Sticker still on the box - $529.95 The xtra mags and the holster are over $140 in add-ons. It's can be yours for $399
  17. The guy who came to buy it said "I saw it and started driving - I knew it wouldn't last" Ha! He wasn't kidding
  18. This gun just came in as a trade and I thought a long-shooting Coues deer hunter would be just the right person for it. It is: Winchester Model 70 Blued Finish Nice Grade Walnut Stock 7mm Rem Mag (we have 168 Berger VLD bullets or loaded ammo in stock for it) 26" Barrel Comes with: Leupold Bases Leupold 30mm Rings This rifle has been very lightly used. The walnut stock has nicely figured grain patterns and a deep/rich brown color. The 26" barrel maximizes the 7mm Mag round. The chamber is in great condition and the rifling is deep/bright throughout. The bolt cycles like new and the trigger breaks clean. There are NO signs of abuse on the gun anywhere. Please note: ***The previous owner had an Indian Head penny inlaid in the stock on the left side of the receiver - that would be the only "flaw" I see on the gun, but some folks have already commented they like it - so to each their own. This is a very well taken care of rifle.*** Original retail on the gun is around $800 to $850 plus another $100ish for the rings/bases. We have the gun in the case for $559.00 - Mention your a CW reader and you can take it home for $499.00 & tax. Here are the pics:
  19. Yeah, but like I said - to each their own - it's like the wheels on my neighbor's truck. I wouldn't have them, but he's rollin' in high style from his perspective. In reality, the rifle was so close being new it was a minor distraction.
  20. SOLD - To a CW member out of Tucson. Thank you for your business.
  21. Our shelves are in good shape on .243 and we ship - just tell me what brand/weight you're looking for and we'll try to make it a reality for you.
