Thanks everyone of the advice! TwoGuns, those are some good pic! Hopefully I can get some like that before season.

Any ideas what would have happened to the antlers if no one would have bought them?

I meet Cole this weekend as well to pick up a skull from my November hunt. We meet in Eloy and it was great that he was willing to meet us as we came from Phoenix. I have seen his work before, but this was the first time I had him clean a skull of mine. Needless to say, I was very impressed. Didn't have any of the cracking that I get when I boil my skulls. Teeth are in perfect condition. Plus, it is super white and doesn't smell! For the price, it was well worth it. Here are some pictures of his work (if I uploaded correctly, never have posted pics before). Tried to give you a few angles to see how good he did. Thanks Cole!

I agree it is simple economics. In our family, we normally have 7 of use put in for elk. This year, only 3 could afford it. The others will still go out IF we draw, but that doesn't show up in any of the 'data' even though they would still be out there with us and support hunting.

This is a great activity. I won't be able to attend this time, but have in the past. Hope a lot of folks can show up.

Okay, so I didn't watch the video. I would say from my past experiences, that animals that run after the shot (missed or the by-standers) is more due to the noise created than anything else. You can be close, but from an elevated position, and the animals may not be able to tell where the threat came from...Just a thought that it may have more to do with them being able to pick up where the noise came from rather than just the distance of the shot.

Awesome! Congrats to your brother.

Maybe I missed something, or maybe it's my computer....but did the forum get a make-over? Is it different for anyone else?

The coolest thing I've seen in a while! Thanks for sharing.

Humbling indeed... Started with a Lynch box call, then moved on the slate...now have a few of each. Seems like some birds like one thing, and some another. Get a couple to start. Key thing is to practice before heading out in the woods so that you feel confident. If I could only take one call, it would be my Timberline slate...just seem to have more luck with that one.

Anyone have any experience with one of these? Any comments on them? -
So, I have used my Covert II only a couple of times. Needless to say, I have not gotten everything figured out yet. Most recently, I had my camera out for a couple of weeks. I did not get any pictures, only video. Checked the settings, seemed to be okay. Set up the camera at home and got the same result.....lots of 10sec video clips, but not a single picture. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?
-
Okay, thanks. I can't find my manuals since we moved (I hate moving ) I gave that a try and now I am getting pictures and no video. Is there a way to get both? Thanks again for the help.

You should be good. I had the same thing happen a few years ago. Took the whole mount to the scorer's house, wasn't a problem. The only pain is transporting the mount (for some reason I feel they are way more fragle than they really are).

I think it is illegal to feed wildlife in Maricopa County and maybe one other? Is that correct? Anyone know?

I had the plastic buckle on my 2200 break last year. Called them up and they sent me two...had them a couple days later. Didn't have a problem getting ahold of anyone and no questions asked.

If this has already been covered, I apologize. I looked but didn't come up with anything. Just got done watching Coosefan's video. I noticed at the end he put a plug on there for the Loc Jaw and the Rifle Railz. Anyone else out there use these? What is the difference between the two? Are they one size fits all? Thanks!

Thanks guys! Things are beginning to make a little more sense....

I might be mistaken, but I think the AZGF Game Warden has been there longer....maybe you meant the BA officers? -
Congrats! Heck of a buck! Good to hear you saw so many deer. Which unit were you in?
-
Well, we didn't have much luck last weekend. Saw a bunch of elk but only 3 does. No bucks that we saw. My nephew did get to bag his first coyote. Hopefully we will see more this weekend. Anyone else seeing any deer in Unit 10? We wll have to try and stay away from all those cow elk hunters this weekend!
