For me, a good bull is 300+. A big bull is 350+. I have yet to harvest either

Anyone know what the weather and road conditions are like in unit 8? We have been planning to head up and scout for my wife's archery elk hunt this weekend and were wondering whats it's like up there now. Plus she really wants to run into some turkeys! Just don't want to spend the gas money if its a mess up there. Thanks.

Thanks Alex! It's been a few weeks since we were last up there so it's good to have an update. This will be her first archery elk hunt. Looking forward to having a good, fun hunt and hopefully she gets to enjoy some good rut activity.

Been in your shoes before. I always make sure that we hunt the way my wife wants too when we hunt together. This has caused me to slow down and I end up enjoying the trip more. Let her determine the pace, ask her for her opinion, see what she wants to do, make her feel that it's her hunt and you'll be good.

Bummer on the shot. Bummer that someone else was already there; but I can't imagine being mad at them. If you started at 5am, they must have started earlier.
