Well I had the afternoon off and decided to do some shed hunting. I live in the Valley so I didn't know I would be shed hunting in the rain and even got some hail. I had to hide under a tree several times and got soaked from walking through wet brush.I didn't hike as far as I wanted but being soaked and a little cold kind of zapped my energy, so I only went on a 4 mile loop. So I wasn't able to find any sheds. On the way home I saw 2 guys standing on the shoulder of the highway looking at something, I was thinking a deer or coyote but when I drove past I realized it was a Mtn. lion so I had to get a closer look. It was pretty beat up from being hit by a car doing 70 mph or so. When I got up close it was a little intmimidating at the size of its paws and teeth.I know some people don't like Mtn. lions because they do kill other animals but I think they are beautiful and an amzing animal to see!

Things I hope to see again on my trailcam this year!
Pixman replied to Pixman's topic in Trail Cameras
I will be hanging it on the same tree as last year and I hope I can get up there to hang it in the next week or so. -
Great pics, now I know the bulls are pushing velvet and it's time to put my cam back up in elk country!
-
Darren, Is that an animal skull that all the critters are checking out? Yes it is a deer skull I found in that area last year. I put it there so the animals will stop for a second to check it out and I can get there pic!

I like this spot I can get a coues or mule deer, not to mention all the other wildlife!
-
I don't know what kind of bird it is but in the next pic the rabbit was still there so I dont think it was a hawk or anything big!
-
I was wondering what the distance from ear tip to ear tip on a live mature coues buck would be? And what about a mule deer while I'm asking! I know it's not exact but just curious what everyone thinks! Trying to learn how to score a little better. Thanks, Pixman

This is the reason I was asking. Thanks for all of your responses, I thought they would be a little wider but now I know!

azryan, congrats on an awesome hunt and an awesome buck. I work with Trevor(until he just quit) and have become friends with him over the last couple months. I was the poor guy covering for him at work so he could hunt, lol

When I saw your title it freaked me out! I have some great pics of a bobcat with a squirrel in it's mouth that I took with my rebel XTI. I was chasing elk back in October and he walked within 40 yards of me.

My "Do It Yourself" Bear Hunt.....
Pixman replied to COOSEFAN's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
What a great story Jim, it's one thing to have a planned hunt with family or friends but to just decide to go and throw in a few things in your pack and go! And to be able to spot and take a bear is amazing. Good job! -
What an awesome experience, I am glad you had your camera handy or it would just be a story your friends would say "ya wright" to! Thanks for posting!
