I am gonna start target shooting next to the road sure saves time being able to drive out 800 yds to set up the targets !! -
We had a decent night at plez. Caught 15 stripes and 1 channel. Got on the lake at 7pm anchored off the backside of a little island north of scorp marina on the drop off from 20-55 ft. Caught first 2 about 25ft down then the rest just off the bottom at 50 ft using cut anchovies. Left the lake about 10:30. Pictures a little messy the neighbors wife started cleaning em b4 I could get a pic.

Also try the reefs that drop off to 40'-60'. We anchored and let the wind push on top of the drop off and did pretty good using cut anchovies during the late morning. At night you guys using crappie lights?

[]Finally after years of no success, got er done. First day missed a buck and saw some does. That evening saw a spiker bedded under a tree that stayed bedded all the way till dark. The second morning we saw 3 does and nothing else. Then we moved to a differen't spot and about a hour before sunset my eagle eyed brother spotted a 3X3 with eye guards. I got into position and in excitement pulled my first shot, but followed up with a good shoulder shot and the buck dropped. With the shooting another buck popped up and so my dad got into position and shot his. It was a great hunt, and thanks to my brother for all his help.

5-10 mph cross wind is usually 1 MOA which is 4" at 400 correct? What would 10-15 b, 2 MOA which would b 8"?

Also when your practicing try to match your hunting conditions like altitude, air temp, and shooting platform. Also prone on a bolt on bipod or sittn using a tripod I think works best, and try to keep your cross hairs level when using your bullet drop reticles in your scope. Your first trip out shooting try not to go on a winding day, as you probally know, at extended distances your bullet drift will screw with you.

I recently purcased 5 acres of land in NM located SW of Datil, has anybody hunted unit 15 for elk or mulies and had any luck? Also does anybody have any tricks to get around the residency requirements since I own the land but don't live there?

Sittn at home this morning with all the rain and finally had enough waitn and decided to get after it. When my father in-law and I got out there(south of Florence) we got lucky and the rain had quit. Driving and stoping to glass up the hills I finally spotted about four pigs. I grabbed my wifes .270 and closed the distance to 271 yds. The pigs had disapeared, then this one popped out. I sat and waited for about 10 mins, waiting for a bigger one to pop up, but gave in and took the shot. The pig dropped in its tracks kicking and rolled about 15 yds down the hill stood up and was then finished by my second shot. Both were lung shots 2" apart. .270 remington w/ 125grn bullet
