Wowwwwww. Awesome buck to say the least. Congrats -
Ya that would of been something as yours was even bigger but on the bright side you don't have to wait 362 days to go deer hunting

Thursday started off with us in a spot with many deer but after baying hounds messed up our morning plans we decided to move to another spot. When we got to the other spot we ended up running into a friend of my brothers who was on some deer. We decided to all swing wide and the 3 of us kind of surrounded the herd, with us coming in each with a couple hundred yards of the deer. The deer were kind of staying in a general spot feeding, bedding, and bucks raking. My brother signaled me to go slow that there were 2 does real close to me. I ended up seeing one of the does ears moving as she fed around some big patches of prickly pear, as I watched I then noticed my soon to be buck down in the bottom of the draw raking the heck out of a cedar. He then disappeared for a few minutes and the next he was heading up to me going through some mesquites and cactus patches. I ranged a patch a head of him 32 yards but when he got there he didn’t stop walking through the 5' clearing. He moved parallel to me and stopped and was looking at me through a small mesquite trying to figure out what was going on. We starred at each other for a few with me crouching down, knees shaking, and heart beating out of my chest. He then must of figured something wasn’t right and turned started walking back to the clearing I drew back and as he reached the clearing walking and quartering away I let the arrow fly. I hit a little bit back but it did the job. He ran down the draw and around the side of the hill. I got on his trail and found good blood immediately and we ended up finding him expired under a juniper. I learned if u keep the wind in your face, move slow and quite, get with in 150 yards and sit tight during the RUT they might just come to you. Thanks brother John, Mark, Justin, and Charles for all the help in harvesting and recovering this buck.

South Central 24b saw and missed a 4x4 pushing 5 doe with a 1x2 in close proximity. The 1x had a full arrow with white vanes sticking out the back of his head, crazy sight. About 3/4 of mile later found a bedded forker with a doe and fawn bedded about 20 yards away.

No problem it was fun, I'll be back out there Saturday chasing em again and hopefully tagging one myself.
-
Just wondering if anybody filled a tag in this past 24b mulie rifle season. The only buck I saw was a spike with 9 doe's and fawns.
-
Heck ya nice. Was he running by himself? Do you think the majority of the bucks stay in the flats year round or go up high during the summer and then come down in the fall?
-
Congrats to your buddy, way to get it done
-
Sounds good. How long and at what temperature did u have it in the smoker? If you don't mind sharing.
-
Guess I'm not the only one that had a rough hunt. I was shocked to see how low the whitetail doe's were, saw several down in the hills of saguaros and chollas. I'll be back out there in 2 weeks, those mulie bucks hopefully will start being easier to find the closer we get to the rut.

Looks like 22 but I think that was last week?? I've been hammering out 24b but the only antlers I've seen were on a spike that I missed. 30 degree incline 15 mph crosswind shouldn't have tried but I did, clean miss
-
heck of a buck, and an easy pack out job too. Congrats
-
Holy chit that's alot of deer. Congrats. I'd say u got that unit figured out
-
Any open unit just look at the regs page 42. I also heard they closed an access point on the east side by klondike
-
Looks like a good buck congrats

Great Buck. Like to know what he scores

My first rifle was a 30-30 and it was pretty accurate up to 200 yards but after missing a deer and a elk with it went out and bought a .300 wsm bolt action. Since then have bagged a coues and 3 elk. I would say get u a bolt action when ever u can. Good luck
