Was in 22N setting up camp this weekend. Heard quite a few bulls sounding off about an hour before dark and all through the night. The morning was kind of quiet. A few bugles here and there but it got hot early and the woods went silent where we were. Hoping for cooler temps here in a few days. Got 10 days to help my Pop get his first archery bull at 63. Wife pulled her first coues rifle tag this year so I'm trying to put together decent set up for her. I'm looking for the best scope I can put on for under $1000. We've never rifle hunted so I'm pretty clueless when it comes to scopes, rings and bases. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. The scope will be going on a tikka 7mm-08.

That's a really big scope for a light rifle. So what would you recommend instead for a good first focal plane scope.

Reticle I'm planning on going with.

So I'm about to pull the trigger on the Nightforce shv F1 4-14x50 with the MOAR but before I do I would love to hear from anyone who has used this reticle/scope. Also would like to know what base and rings to get for the setup. I want quality over anything. Don't want to be dealing with any problems later. Scope will be on a Tikka TX3 lite in 7mm-08.Thanks in advance.
