And I'm not a Nancy by any means. It's nice to have a dry place for gear and sleep. And to have a something nice enough to double for the family trip. I would totally be in on a jumping jacks if it was just my brother and I for the hunts. But funds and space, I can't have a family camper and hunting trailer

Basically, I want a truck utility bed base, with a pop up top. Slide out beds, and canvas kit. "Patent pending" (now if you guys steal my ideas....) So that way I can access all of the storage compartments from the outside

I'm/were done.... i got 1 hall pass and cashed it in. This hunting around valentines day is rough. ha ha. We camped by bumble bee this year. Wasn't much of anything moving around with all that wind.

I don't think its a title...it should be a club.... Went out to 20 b, tried a new part of the unit. Went to scout, found sign, seen three pigs. Set up camp a week later, walking distance to where we seen them. Couldn't find sign or pigs. Went down one road in the jeep, met other guys (off roaders) coming out... they said they didn't see any. Pig track over their tire tracks. Worked the area hard to no avail. Sunday morning, picked a different wash. drove to the end. hiked a few hours, cold called. Found track over the tire tracks. Every dried up mud puddle had loads of sign (less than a week old or so).... found the few puddles of fresh water with zero sign on it. Beef wasn't even coming to drink it. I don't get it

Like Single Shot said,... its pretty intimidating the first go around. I went halvsies on a grinder (and had a stuffer donated to me) with one of my buddies. I was super reluctant to just start with venison and "try it out". after all, its in pretty short supply. Due to the lack of timing, that's what we did though. I was so afraid of screwing up the first batch and wasting deer. But we picked up a couple of different kits. One summer sausage and one snack stick kit. and just started. on the snack sticks, we followed it to the letter, on the ratio sheet inside the package. When we got to summer sausage, we started playing around. We had green chilies and jalapenos when we started the summer sausage. We used the casings in the package. We restocked for next time, but its been awhile. I heard that the benefit of using high temp cheese really isn't worth it. Just get "hard cheese" and its the same, plus it opens up the field for larger variety to have more options. The softer the cheese, the lower the melting point. We use the ratios in the pack for fat content (I think its 20% but don't quote me). Beef carries a flavor but is about .99/# (ask the butcher for scraps). or same thing with straight pork fat. Unless you find a cheap deal on bacon. I have a smoker, but we just made the first batch in the oven, due to time constraints. still turned out pretty delicious. Sausagemaker.com has a large variety of spices. I want to try using a heavy beer (like Guinness) instead of the water required for blending, or adding cheese. Was hoping for more dove or some rabbit to try making our own breakfast sausage.

So our little guy is becoming a man... actually he's 13 already and turning 14 in March. But, he has started to pre-emptively strike for his birthday request. He wants to go deep sea fishing in San Diego for his birthday. It's one heck of an expensive gift,... but honestly, it's on my bucket list too. ha ha. And coupled with the fact that its not something that takes a battery or a screen, or that he will have to leave his "teen-cave" and interact with us and strangers is something quite remarkable. I looked it up once before, but that was years ago. Does any one have any recommendations? Or leads? So the only other hang up is. There's four of us. the boy, and myself will want to fish. I am pretty sure that his younger sister, and my lady wont. Any places that have fisher + observer. Is "thinking sauce" (beer) allowed on these boats. Not for the kid, but for mom to sit through half a day of watching us fish it might be necessary ha ha, but not a requirement thanks for any ideas.

I used pushers this past season in 20a.... well ok, I mean, I didn't know who they were, or anything like that. But when they were rambling down the road in their side by side, then talking over the motor... they helped push deer out of the cover for us.

There was a thread on here many moons ago.... Somoene used copper krylon spray paint, and painted their deer and javelin skull. I really liked the look of it. Coudlnt find the thread, but try googling copper deer skull, and there was pictures. Theres a group in san tan, Skull crazy that has some neat stuff. or just bedazzle it. ha ha just kidding

Depends on the size of the group. I have a coleman roadtrip lxe. its pretty versatile. Has its own stand. Can get a grate for grilling, and then other accessories include a griddle or a burner plate for it. Plus two pull out shelves. The family didn't like that it took an hour to make breakfast though in the bigger campouts, so I was gifted a Blackstone 28 griddle top. The things pretty amazing. we used it for house parties, camping, even cooking Christmas breakfast for everyone. They sell a grill top for it too.

turkey(23) and HAM javelin (???) for me

my brother, and one of the other guys from the group have the larger hardside coolers. theyre amazing. keeps ice all weekend. I wanted to splurge for a roadtrip to texas last summer. So I ordered the 30 can soft side. Well, #1 it didn't show up in time... but oh well.(showed up the day after we got back). But in general, the thing is a piece of "chit" ... The soft sides doesn't keep ice any longer than a conventional cooler. I go through the standard loadings that I do with the regular ice chests. out of the heat before loading, as much cold items as possible then ice. The ice lasted a day in the soft cooler on the last hunt.
