Santana Outdoors replied to Santana Outdoors's topic in The Campfire
That's correct. I know it is a long time. We want to give everyone an opportunity to get a photo with their pack in the field and or with their trophy. -

Mike At 512 S Beeline this Saturday between 9 and 2 we are going to have a booth there with the packs. Or next week it will be at Jeremy Ulmer's new shop Chasing a Dream outfitters. We will have most of our packs there and some of our other stock. Thanks, Eric

Badlands Ox backpack is now available at Payson Outfitters. We are very impressed, 3500 cu in, it will carry more than you can! Large top pouch, hip pouches, hugh main pouch, 2 side pouches and another pouch on the rear. Bad to the bone is all we can say. The Badlands OX Back Pack is made from ultra light ultra strong T-6 aircraft aluminum frame. Tuff enough to carry any thing you can put in in and Badlands wants you to try it. We are making a video review and will post soon. See our website for more info. http://www.paysonoutfitters.com/servlet/th...Pack-and/Detail Thanks, Eric

Thanks Matt for the referral Success! A few years ago Mike and myself was archery hunting in unit 10. He took off after some antelope and I took off about a mile south of him. A few hours passed and he radioed me asking for my help to find his arrows so I hiked back up to him, by now it was 10am. We sat down to eat lunch, mike had his Antelope buck decoy set up in front of him a few feet kind of out in the open. i sat down by a tree and we started to eat lunch. Within a few minutes Mike noticed a buck and doe running down this ridge towards us from a mile away. As they got closer I grabbed my bow and waited, not really expecting anything to happen. Then they got closer and closer. They were still out about 400 yards almost directly across from us when they turned and jogged straight towards us, when they hit the 60 yard distance they turned sideways and slowed down, Mike wispered to me "60 yards". I set my 60 yard pin on him and followed him until Mike made a noise and the buck stopped. For some strange reason I said "Here you go sucker" as I released my arrow. The buck ran off 75 yards and piled up. If it wasn't for the decoy he wouldn't had come that close. Now comes the crazy part. While we were sitting the laughing, not believing what just happened. Mike had questioned my talking while releasing the arrow. Again, I dont know why I said that. Mike looked down where the buck came from and here comes another buck following the same trail and path the other antelope took, except for he came running right up to within 25 yards of the decoy. I had the range finder and wispered "25 yards", This time Mike raised his bow and stood up over the decoy and took a shot. His arrow missed. We couldn't figure out what happened and how he could have missed. The buck ran off and we went to get my antelope and headed back to camp. The next day I noticed why he missed the shot, He shot through the decoy!!!!! LOL 2 years later we had another tag in unit 10 and opening day we had the decoy and ran up a hill after a buck following some does, luckily there was enough of a rise in the hill and a little valley on the other side that we were able to chase after them and them not see us. Once we topped out I saw the buck out 150 yards so when he saw the decoys in front of us the buck come running at us at full speed and stopped at 50 yards. Mike took the shot and nailed him. I myself like decoys but we also spend lots of hours in the field and lots and lots of time looking for opportunities and did I say lots of luck yet! Good luck , Eric

Game Cameras Here are some things you are going to have to think about before you buy one. Trigger speed- Most of the inexpensive ones are going to have a 3-5 second trigger speed. If you have this camera on a trial you will rarely get any photos worth looking at because it is not fast enough to catch them. So find one with a 1 second trigger speed. You can use it on trails and at water or over feed. Resolution- I have found that resolution is very deceiving in game cameras just like a digital camera. Your better pictures are going to come from better cameras that have better lenses. Battery life- Some cameras are known for using lots of battery. Be careful of some of the cheaper models, they will eat you up in batteries. Id recommend Infrared not flash- There is 2 types of infrared cameras on the market- one is a low glow and one is a no glow . The no glow cameras normally don't make any noise when they go off and they are covert, you cannot see them go of at all. Flash will spook the game. Attaching to a tree- Get a security box/ anti theft/ bear box, it will help keep it safe from bears, and keep most people away from it. The security box lags to the tree then your camera goes in it. You can also use a python cable to secure it even more. The theives will have to have some serious equipment with them in the field to steal it. We sell many different types of Game cameras but for this example I'll use the Stealth Game camera that sells for $130 with 5MP and a 3 second trigger speed. The one Amanda is talking about DLC Covert and is a $199 camera with 5mp and a 1 second trigger speed. Even though they both are 5mp, the image on the Covert is far superior because of a better lense and a faster trigger speed. Also if you want to zoom in on the photos the cheaper cameras just are not clear enough, especially at night. Moultrie also makes one you can hook up a modem to it and get photos sent to your computer for about $30 per month. But you have to have cell service in the area you put up the camera. It saves a lot of time and money by not having to go out on check on you camera. You can also hook up a solar panel for 365 days a year of power. Reconyx makes one that has High Definition and a battery life lasts up to year. But it starts at $450. Hope this helps. Eric

Most people asking this question want a covert camera, no-glow infrared so they do not know they just been had! high quality picture taking so you can zoom in and see who is in the photo and a fast trigger speed to catch them. I have pm you to ask a few questions. Eric

My wife sent this to me and I think it just might work!!!!! FINALLY, A POLITICAL PARTY OF YOUR CHOICE. New political party, not Democrat, not Republican, not Independent. It is called the "PISSED OFF PARTY" (or POP). This party is dedicated to vote every incumbent out of office in the next elections. If you are Democrat, vote Democrat. Just do not vote for the incumbent. If you are Republican, vote Republican. Just do not vote for the incumbent. We need to send a message to all politicians, that we are tired of their B.S. If the country votes out all the incumbents, the new incoming politicians will get the message. It is pretty simple. Nobody needs to change parties, and let's face it, there is plenty of blame to spread around. A few good politicians will lose their job, but they have better retirement and insurance then 95% of the American public. You have had to struggle for the last 9 years. Some of you have lost your job, and may be working in some other sector just to feed your family. I guarantee you none of them will suffer like this country has. If you are fed up, and think this is a good idea, then pass this on to others. If you really think this has legs, then a website and a blog could help get the word out. Here is an irritated senior! This should be read and understood by all Americans, Democrats, Republicans, EVERYONE! To All 535 voting members of the Legislature, it is now official, you are ALL fired! THE U.S. POSTAL SERVICE was established in 1775. You have had 234 years to get it right, and it is broke. SOCIAL SECURITY was established in 1935. You have had 74 years to get it right, and it is broke. FANNIE MAE was established in 1938. You have had 71 years to get it right, and it is broke. WAR ON POVERTY started in 1964. You have had 45 years to get it right, and $1 trillion dollars of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the poor", and they only want more. MEDICAID were established in 1965. You have had 44 years to get it right, and they are broke. FREDDIE MAC was established in 1970. You have had 39 years to get it right, and it is broke. THE DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year, and we import more oil than ever before. You have had 32 years to get it right, and it is an abysmal failure. You have FAILED in every "government service" you have shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars. NOW YOU WANT AMERICANS TO BELIEVE YOU CAN BE TRUSTED WITH A GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM? IT IS NOT ABOUT THE NEED FOR GOOD HEALTHCARE, IT IS ABOUT TRUSTING THE GOVERNMENT TO RUN IT. Anybody want to add anything?

Santana Outdoors replied to willhunt4coues's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
"Thank you for calling the Arizona Game and Fish (2) The draw results are unavailable at this time!" I hate this guys voice! I've heard the excuse for coming out tomorrow is that they didn't want to do it over the weekend so they could be there if there was any problems with the system. -
killed by a stinkin' "illegal" alien
Santana Outdoors replied to .270's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
To lose a brother, father, grand father, husband that represents what America is all about is very, very sad. "God help this family through this tragic time in Jesus name, Amen" Now, it is sickning what our country is turning into. Our government has made us look like a bunch of wimps, that is why people are taking advantage or us, killing the good people and getting away with it. The stinking criminals have more rights then the average American. Your right Redskin, enough is enough!!!!! Here is our new American Policy. Anyone want to back me? Start taking on the responsibility for your own actions. Just this statement alone will git it done. 1) You want to mess with America, Boom, your History! 2) If you expect America to take care of you, Get out! No lazy people here. 3) No taxes forced on the American people, except for National Security. Just like it was back in the civil war, a 3% tax. (Wow! What do you think would have happened if they taxed them 30% back then?) The more the government gives, the more the people expect. God Bless America and have a great night. -
Sweet! What camera did you use?
