Wow, lots of good info. I have taken most of my animals all under 200 yrds. But have had opportunities go on some animals I really wanted at over 600 yards because I have never flung a piece of lead over that distance. I just started practicing LR shooting and now comfortable out to 600 yards on a flat shot, with no wind, on my tripod. The more I have researched LR shooting the more I am finding that it is a lot of information needed that has to be processed before pulling the trigger. Unless you are honestly willing to invest the time and learn all about it you shouldn't be shooting over 250 yards anyways. Like Gino said if you are off 6 " at 200 yards you are going to be 2' off at 600 yards or a lot more if you add in all the variables. How many of us has shot at a target at 200 yards and that bullet it 6" off the center? Opps I must have pulled!!!!!! I was with someone this year that shoots all the time and he shoots very well. He was shooting downhill at 250 yards and missed, 6 times!!! He should have read the thread below on down hill shots first. http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/in...c=22047&hl= I am going to share this website in hopes that if you are going to shoot over 250 yards you can use it to make you a better shot. Len's website is a good one on LR http://www.longrangehunting.com/ , lots of good info and way too much for my brain. Gino, good thread! I also have to agree with Lark, and a few others. I know you started in in hopes that it would help some and I think it will. We do need to understand that some hunters are just not going to spend the time to practice, some will practice and just mess up, some can't afford it and some flat out don't care. But I thank God that MOST hunters are some of the best people in the world! Eric

We glassed up 14 Rocky's in an area here in AZ that I thought there was only Desert Big Horn. Nice pics , thanks -
OK, I am looking at replacing the Big-O tires on my H2. At first I thought they were great, they rode very nice but are too soft to handle Coues Whitetail Country! Flats and lugs missing are not good when you are out 25 -30 miles from no where. I don't like changing tires at all. 70% of my miles are hyway, its the 30% off road I destroy tires. Had good luck with the BF Goodrich AT but I'm looking for something with better sidewalls But not noisy on the hyway probably needs to have some kind of side lugs to handle the rocks. Tuff enough for the desert but not too rigid Got any ideas? What are you using? Thanks, Eric

In 1976 at a motorcycle race in California, my Mom, my older brother and I had a heater in a tent. My brother woke up freezing and sick, then he woke up my mom who was also sick, checked the heater and went back to sleep. i didnt know about any of it until morning. They told me they asked me if I was ok, I said yes and went back to sleep, we knew nothing about Carbon Monoxide! Surprised we were are not dead from that. Had a good friends father die on an antelope hunt in Seligman from this. I think about that every time I start it. Thanks for the reminder, I run my Buddy Heater too in the morning and have fell back to sleep (not a deep sleep, maybe one eye open) , I open a top vent, and a lower vent. I am going to get me a CO detector, Thanks!
