Great buck man, getting it done as usual!

I am jealous... My wife and I have been to Belize twice now, once for school and again for our honeymoon. In total we have spent nearly 3 months in the country and will be returning as soon as our luck improves and our son gets a little bigger. We mostly do deep sea trolling and quick live bait fishing over the reef but I had the opportunity to flip flies at Ambergris Lagoon and in the surf of Placencia in the south. A trip to the flats is something I have spent many hours researching and dreaming about. I do think an outfit like FT will make for the best trip and going in Feb-March is the best time of year to be there. You will need a light wind breaker/ Rain jacket as it will rain every day between 2-4pm. Usually just isolated single thunderheads but you may get hit with a real storm too. I hope you enjoy the libation cause Belize is a great place to drink. It may be because of the surroundings, but Belikin is the best beach beer I have ever come across. Try a few of the local rums too, One Barrel has always been our favorite. Since we will be getting 18" of snow tonight here in northern CO, I am really, really jealous and hope you take tons of pics. P.S. DesertBull- revisit the conversation with the wife because I have never once felt threatened or in danger while in Belize. Stay out of dark alleys, don't flash your cash and jewelry, and be aware of your surroundings and you will be absolutely fine.

Awesome! Way to stick with it. Congrats! -
It was the last day I was able to hunt the AZ desert and the ghost that live here before the big move to CO. We spotted deer at about a mile and a half out and I jokingly say 'its a buck till we prove otherwise.' Wasn't 30 seconds later the sun lit up horns, we put the spotting scope on him and started to setup a stalk. 1 hour and 15 minutes later I'm 300 yds below the last place the guys saw him. After sneaking up the hillside I'm on the edge of a bench and catch movement under a cedar. Its a different buck trailing up the hot doe that had just gone through with the other buck, but he's headed right at me. After a few minutes he clears another tree and I settle in on him. He jumped the string and turned to run but at 20 yds he only got half way there. I hit him dead center in the spine through the throat and it was over as soon as it started. Right place, right time and I am stoked!

I had all the cushions rebuilt and new covers made 2 years ago in hopes of stretching the life of my pop-up out a bit. Well it was a rough fall on the ol' camper and its seen its last trip. These are in great shape, fully zippered and removable covers. Green/tan tweed, black vinyl backing and blaze orange tubing. Full size mats have custom deer track on them. (4) 4'x6' Full size- two 4" thick rebuilt, two 2" unders. (1) 6' Bench- 2'x6', 16"x6' (2) 4' Booths- two 2'x4', two 16"x4' (2) 2'x2' seat Of course the bench as well as the booth sections lay out together to form 4 full size beds. Looking to get $400 for the lot.

I think the Cave Creek fire a few years back really did a number on the Javy count in that area. The further north you go the better luck you will have finding pigs. If your interested in the lower country, I'd look at Tangle Creek all the way up to Long Mesa. The fire seemed to stay west of there for the most part.

Huntin Coues with a .250 Savage

Great buck with a great gun! Congrats! -
My brother dropped his whitetail at 650ish last fall and I shot mine at just shy of 400 with the 'Lightning Bolt from God'. Can't speak for my bro's as I wasn't there but mine went through both shoulders and we found the slug just below the hide on the back side. He was as big in the body as most muleys. I'd trust the 257 mag at 500 yds as long as you can place the shot.

I spent $45 on the manzanita burl from ebay too. Must be the magic number for DIY taxidermy work! Euro mounts are my favorite regardless of how many times I'm told shoulder mounts are the way to go. Maybe someday I'll come around but for now this is how I hang em. I left the tag on when i boiled it out, I've tried a tea stain but it didn't take. Any suggestions?
