Like I told ya in our PM's, your bull unit has a serious problem with camera thieves! I can leave cameras all over my Coues unit and nobody touches them. Set up a couple up north and they get swipped!

Best tactic for bowhunting coues?
kaibabkiller replied to Heinz57's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
August= Ground blind or tree strand over corn and minerals. Dec./ Jan.= Spot and stalk Best of both worlds! -
Ladder stands and ground blinds are all we use during August. Big game two man stands are my favorite but there only 17 feet tall, I just set them up hill from where I anticipate my shot. Also, setting them in Cedars/junipers works great.

I have 5 sets with cams in about a 5 square mile radius. Im a firm believer in strength in numbers. The more cams you have out the more deer your scouting at once. The only issue I have is I'll get bored at one set and make a move late morning to come back next day and check the SD card and find my lack of patience cost me an oppurtunity at a 90 inch buck! So if you have a shooter coming in regularly stick it out, chances are he'll return.

Man I wish I had a tag in my pocket!! Those pics are getting me pumped up and Im not elk hunting this year.

My new cornhole boards!
kaibabkiller replied to kaibabkiller's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Bean bag toss a.k.a. cornhole, the bags are full of corn. Points cancel like horseshoes. Its great fun to play while having a few cold beverages. Thanks. I'm from an earlier era when the word meant something far different. I considered protesting your friend's use of my stylized sketch without my permission if that's what the word still meant. Bill Quimby My dad says the same thing! He laughs and shakes his head when I tell him I'm headed to a cornhole tournament! -
Pm sent

My new cornhole boards!
kaibabkiller replied to kaibabkiller's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I have a buddy who makes them. They cost $150 for boards, bags and a score tower that holds your beer while you toss. He can put whatever you'd like on them. -

A few bucks from the past couple months

Yup, hiking it in along with a 40lb. bag of trace minerals. I'll set out 100lbs. of corn and 40 lbs. of minerals each set per month at 5 different sets. Closer to the opener in Aug. we'll step up the corn and add sweet feed. I try to replenish the feed weekly starting the 1st of Aug. I found that the closer to water the minerals are, the more they'll hit it. The corn and sweet feed they'll travel for.
