sorry, pushed send... It really reminded me of the good ole days when us archers got along. When we use to share info and help each other out. My hat goes off to Russ and Lee Jacoby. They got that hunt down to a tee. They work their tails off and it shows. Without them it would of been absolute chaos. I ran into 3 hunters by opening day noon. They settle it all down, keep people from screwing it all up for everybody and it works!.Too me, being stubborn and thinking your the man has no place for this hunt. Sure go prove your worth and prove you can kill a buff and screw everybody else up. So yah, thats my thoughts. When 9 out of 10 kill i think it says it all. if i had to do it all over again, i would straight up pay full guide fees and truly enjoy a once in a lifetime hunt. (never paid a guide in my life) If you do your research you will see the free range buffalo herd will most likely be coming to an end soon. sounds like they are going to pen some up at Houserock and finish the herd off in the canyon. so its my thoughts, if you get a tag call Russ up and make the most of it.

So i got drawn for archery buff. Ive almost killed out on the az big 10. I have no problems nor need no help doing my thing. I took that attitude to kaibab and quickly dropped it. Lee Jacoby found me day 1 and said come over to buff camp that night and lets talk. I quickly relized after meeting the other 9 hunters this wasnt your average hunt. Big money, once in a life time and hunters who all gave a dam about working together for 1 goal. I got with the program, we all met every morning and every evening. Talked out what we saw and what we were going to do about it as a team. Buffalo started dropping. Hunters started moving. Jacoby started pulling hunters for stalks and killing Buffalo. The last i heard, 8 of 10 filled, number 9 was looking for his bull. 3 of the hunters had bad shots and still killed out.

I saw way more of that then i wanted to see this year. You just hope those guys learn and get fustrated with their effort and choose to better themselves. unfortunatly, everything i saw this year came right down to 1 thing... extreme lack of PATIENCE!

Long axel to axel is what u should look for cause of your height, not sayin you wont find what your lookn for in the major brands but dont settle for one. I see and know alot of taller archers and they rarely shoot the big named bows. Alot of High Country, Elite... all because they want the length to stabilize their frame

I believe theres a shoot at Usery the weekend after Easter to benefit a fellow archer that has recently passed. Maybe Amanda knows somethin on that also. I think Desert archers have it on their site???

Are You Crazy Enough To Run After A Mt. Lion ;)
CUZTAIL replied to Buck Smasher's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Archery spring bear, checkn a cam and my brother in law says theres 2 bears. i missed, 1 went 1 way the other went the other way. My buddy chewn on jerky and drinkn beer says lets go get him. so we take off chasin him, i run with the bigger bear all the way over a ridge and then here a crash next to me. thinkn it was my buddy, i look over and the other bear was running alongside me at 15yrds. At me or with me, i dont know. What i do know is after dumping a quiver of arrows in her, its not very comforting hearing her man bout 100yrds away chucking boulders down the hill mad as h*ll. I pulled my .22 ruger out, relized it felt like i was holding a dart gun, and ran to go get back-up. That bear was F-ING angry! - it was on fathers day in june, during mating season. might explain the tension? -
Oh ART, we cant all be proffesional lion hunters like you- Google the kofa mountain range, guess you didnt hear bout that in your state huh. Sorry buddy, but here in AZ your presious kitty was officially deemed SHEEP KILLER.

I told myself I wasn't going to comment on this post but after reading kninebirddog I couldn't resist to say "well put my friend". TJ

Not much to pick here TJ. was just reading the stolen cam post and noticed how people say they would do this and that. 1st thing that came to my mind was good luck. no law, only thing else is eye for an eye. ive done the whole vigilanty thing. end result: ruined my hunt & pissed off G&F(yes, when u retaliate, and the person sees he has met his match, apperantly they call G&F, admitt they are wrong, and say "cant we all get along now"). im in the field 1 h e l l of alot. and u know, im still pissed i did that. probably 30+ weekends in the field and i still wish i could have a do over on that, where i typically always keep my cool. whatever, just throwing in my last .02 on this- hope ya all learned, dont be an idiot like me...

never said right or wrong. i hunt 23. i know more about stolen stuff than anyone should know. treestands, steps, blinds, cooking knives, lanterns, even my dang sleeping bag! and yes, you can call to report when something has been stolen while you are there. now that i think about it, i think tonto told me bout the "nothing they can do" over a treestand. whatever, ill call tomarrow and post. oh, as far as the ignorant comment goes, seriously, your defending a piece of plastic. who cares if im wrong? its made in TAIWAN!

Its to my understanding when you leave possesions on USFS land without a permit, you relinquish rights to the said property. I hear all the time forest service removing tree stands, cameras, etc... So can anything really be done legally? Has anyone else heard of this? or am i just out in LaLa land? In a way it actually makes sense, who are we to leave our crap all over the forest? also it distrupts wildlife, maybe some deer dies cause he's in dire need of a drink but wont go to a waterhole cause it flashes at him every time. Bet im right...
