not very familiar with vernon side drove over there couple times and saw lots of turkeys back a couple years in the fall. Um unit 1 by big lake if there isn't to much snow is a good area . . . .around open draw, noble mountain, crosby crossing, boneyard, etc. a lot of good areas can't wait to get out there april 30th

let me know how you guys fair. and maybe shed some light on me for upcoming hunt. j/k i know 1 and 27 very well. good luck

unit 1 and 27 are really great. Hannigan meadow reported that they still have 25" and suppose to rain also this weekend. looks like 40% chance or rain friday and saturday highs in mid 60's lows in mid 30's. Good luck i got a tag in unit 1 apr. 30 - may 20

nice adventure! wish iwas closer to the white mountains so i can shed hunt. i have to wait couple more weeks to go out looking for deer sheds

what i do is set up with 4-5 hens and try to lure em off the hens he's on. i would have a mouth call and box call at the same time to get em really wild up. Just be in camo ther eyes are very sensitive to movement and see color

well not really weird but fall turkey hunt barely legal shooting light I cackled to see if the turkey's would respond and fly down no luck but within 5 seconds coyote ran me an my buddy over

unit 1 and 27 herds are big!! would be amazed if you took an hour hike in the woods and didn't see at least 30 elk. another thing is elk populations is threw the roof and deer population is pathetic compared to back in the day.

ya thats awesome. i saw in nutrioso during late bull elk hunt last year there were literly 300-400 cows spikes and forks. it was amazing

was playing cards with family in tucson and only couple ppl felt it. (scientfic thing) it really felt like i was on a boat . . . I remember sayin whoa this is awesome . .who's poisoned the mm's. i thought it was a 7.2 on sunday??!

wanted to elk hunt in 104 archery. but no nothing of the area. just know it's close to my uncles house. any help would be great! or if you can point me in a unit archery for bull that maybe better (public land)

by far elk is my favorite other than wolves. love to watch and learn tatics and so forth. i usually spend three to five weekends up in alpine during sep.-oct. watching elk and occasionally deer and antelope. P.S.- IT NEEDS A LOT OF COYOTES TAKIN OUT ALSO. LAST TURKEY HUNT (3DAYS) WE SAW YOTES EVERYDAY (12 ALL TOGETHER) EVEN CALLED ONE IN BY TURKEY CALLING 5 YARDS NEARLY RAN US OVER. i told my buddy i was going to cackle to see if i can entise turkey to come down from there slumber. WE sat there for 3 seconds and something caught my eye outside my bino's and glanced at a dog at 5 yards. whispered to my buddy, it stopped and looked and took off. anyhow get out there and take out some dogs

wow lucky! that and unit 1 early is an awsome hunt. wish i could help

sigh just put the national guard at the border each one a mile away from the other with couple sniper rifles and assault weapons. they should be able to pick each one of them off w/all there training.

ah man i gotta put up my 270 short mag up . . .sigh
