From my angle and what I understand is.... the drought and predation is a big part of it. Numbers are not great for fawn survival and deer numbers aren't in plethora numbers like other states. Where you have to manage doe numbers to keep a healthy herd. I would think if you were allowed to shoot either buck or doe.... than numbers would greatly decline.

i have one of the cobra's not sure which one...just saw at sportsmans and said hey i need a release. Haven't had any problems with it .... has buckle and it's adjustable.

Measure once it's on the ground. If you think he is that wide he must be pretty impressive.

The numbers have declined...buddy of mine hunted there for years and here old stories there were pigs everywhere even hearing about mega herds with 50+ pigs. Now fewer herds with the drought and he said something about disease they were getting and wiping out herds. Hunted in there 2 years ago and located two herds but neither had any piglets but they had 7-9 pigs in the bunch which i think is average. 1 tip .... STAY AWAY FROM THE ROAD. Get off and hike aways in. They are there just hard to pick out and another thing i would suggest is sit on tripods and cover as much country as you can.

I have a .270 WSM and my buddy has a .270 weatherby My short mag flies faster and farther in just about every ballistic chart we've seen. Look at prices on ammo...and look at the chart to determine which one is better suited.
