I picked up one of these work sharp sharpeners from Sheels. It works good, but i wish it wasn’t plastic. anyone else have any other favorite ways to sharpen a knife?

I’d love to see pics of the dead goat.

I like the fact that you can adjust the angle of the stone with precision. It is simple to use, almost foolproof. It just seems kind of cheaply built. I could see breaking the clamp screw that holds the blade.

A couple years ago the resorts had over 300” for the winter. I buy day passes in July, when they are cheap. A $99 day pass lets us ski every Friday, or week day of our choice, for the entire season. We stay with my sister who lives 45 minutes from flag. We pack our own food. If we’ve had a good week, I’ll splurge for in-n-out for afterwards. It can still be done on the cheap.

I got weekday passes for me and the kids at snowbowl. We’ll see how many times we make it.

Anyone skiing this year?

You should see the grass spring up in Young right now. It’s unbelievable. I see giant herds of elk every morning gobbling it up.

I agree. It will be good for all animals to have good browse. Should have good fawn/calf recruitment. Quail should be healthy. Hopefully it continues.

Buffalo tomahawk steak, over charcoal and applewood, whatever dry rub seasoning we had laying around. One of the best steaks I’ve ever had.

From what I can tell, it was bulls, but I’m not 100% sure.

I found this fascinating. I killed an old bull last year and couldn’t wait to find out what he got aged at. Turns out he was 14. https://azgfd-portal-wordpress-pantheon.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/25151324/2024-AZ-Elk-Harvest-Age-Results.pdf

It was like eating a baseball glove.

I’ll pm you details. Don’t want to give away too much info on the internets.

He was going down hill for sure. He was bony and withered, probably didn’t have much time left. He had an old g5 montec stuck in his backstrap, all tumored over. I got him on a late archery hunt in a general unit. In a very heavily hunted area. I do believe his senses, like eyesight and hearing were going downhill. I just kind of walked right up to him and shot him with my bow.

Yes, the rut ran late in 23 this year. The big boys didn’t show up until right before the youth hunt. I felt sorry for those who had early tags this year.

My son got it done, rain and all. He’s 2 for 2 now on youth hunts.

Glad to see Trump there, because Charlie got him elected. I wish Trump wouldn’t have rambled on, but Charlie changed the course of the world, basically. if you’re not a believer, now is the time.

I got tickets the moment they were available. Hope I can make it.

Questiin about rubber boots for kansas deer hunt
bojangles replied to couesdeerhntr's topic in The Campfire
Play the wind. Rubber boots may help keep you from leaving a scent trail. Tuck you pants into your boots, stove pipe style for walking around to keep from making a trail. But they won’t cover for a bad wind. Nothing does. -
Gas or diesel?

Don’t buy a wimpy electric bike. Be the man you are and get this classic dual sport bike. Great for fire road, trails, or putting around town. 6 speed transmission. 1994. 1900$
