Yeah, but some guys are just into long range. nothing wrong with that. im into bow hunting. That’s just my thing. im not going to criticize a guy for how he wants to get it done.

My wife came from a hunting family, and got me hooked on 1 gallon freezer bags. So much faster than paper. Still only took a couple hours. I’m not a fan of processors. I’ll keep my money and know what happened to my deer and elk.

16 dollar coolers don’t have drains. Lol. But the meat was still ice cold after sitting in the cooler for a a day or two.

Welp, i knew I wouldn’t have time to put effort on this hunt, so I took a day off and took my boys and built a bunch of blinds on tanks in 23 and 22. I wanted to focus on 23 cause my son has the youth elk tag for 23. I wanted to get some places where I could hunt before and after work, and still put in a respectable work day. I also wanted a mule deer. I’ve shot plenty of white tails. I struggled with seeing bucks at first, as I had nothing but does coming in. I did take a swing and a miss at a fork horn one day. I also gave up a lot of afternoons to hunt doves with my kids. Finally things came together as a couple bucks showed up. There was a bruiser 4x in there, but he never even came close to offering a shot. I drew on the 3x, but he got nervous and started to leave, so I switched to the 2x, and guessed 40. I’ve missed more opportunities over the years fiddling with my rangefinder on nervous deer. welp, 40 worked out great. Double lung shot, he took a couple leaps and crashed. i didn’t get any field photos, as I had to bust it to get to work. I had to drag it out and beat the band to make my appointments. I’ll try to work on getting pics when I get the skull cleaned up.

Lol. I’ll get to that when the work is done.

I went to big lake a couple weeks ago. we wasted our time all morning, so we packed up and went to the black river and caught fish there. big lake looked like green sewer.

when an average hunter gets a strip tag. In the field updates

One thing that helps me, if I can, is to shoot once or twice in the morning before I go out, to make sure my release is on par, and to shoot a daily dozen during the hunt. Helps calm release jitters. Ive already got one strike against me this season.🥺 -
700 dollars for a sight. What has archery come to? I swear I’m going full traditional. but something in me just wants to try this.

Nice set up. Not sure how your parting with it. Bump for a hard hitting gun, for when the 45 just wont cut it, and you need more than 6 shots.

Would like to trade my specialized sirrus pro (carbon) with kyserium wheels size 54 I think, for a Hoyt sartori, in 45-50 pounds. If you’ve got one laying around and need a carbon fiber road bike.

Or $500

So, I guess it’s now illegal to make bone broth from foreign deer or elk in AZ? I cant bring the bones home? This doesn’t make sense.

Yup, but it will be too late by then.

Unfortunately no one seems to care about real issues. No bull 350 will get another 5 pages by the weekend, while due process is getting flushed away with our inalienable rights.

10mm for grizzly bear defense
bojangles replied to bojangles's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
Interesting. In all the reading and research I have done, and mind you I have no personal experience, it seems that the highest fatality rates are those that are armed with long guns. It seems if you miss on the first shot it’s over with. There’s a website out there that gives details on what fatality rates are per caliber of handgun. It’s an interesting read. The consensus is that bear spray works, except for when it doesn’t. Then it’s over with. I think the sum of all opinions was that a 12 gauge loaded with slugs would be the best defense. -
When do you need it done by? i can do it but not sure when I’ll be in your neck of the woods.

Vicksburg aquifer and the Saudi alfalfa farms

Seemed like the sulfur springs valley was suffering a simple fate, as I’d heard lately. Frustrating. -
Lol. I do need to find something else to do. But you got something good to say, and I am all ears. While I truly do understand the complaint against certain ranches, and no doubt there are a few violators out there, who care for nothing but their bank account.... at the end of the day, all I’m saying is the people who are against cattle, are also against hunting. And they won’t stop at cattle.

Pawn. im not saying all cowboys are moral and upright. I’m say you’re fighting for the cause that will kill you. remember when the Sierra club sued the Arizona sheep associated for filling water catchments during a drought? It’s because they love wildlife so much, of course. you're fighting for the enemy. its already been proven in this thread how much the bar x has done for wildlife, to the point where they received awards. ranching and logging have done this state nothing but good, and the Sierra club attitude has done nothing but bad, both for wildlife and the forest itself.
