It’s the worst I’ve ever seen tonight. Traffic to payson was probably backed up 35 miles. It was backed up all the way to where the highways cross. makes me want to leave payson even worse. Absolute craziness.

Get friends. Friends don't let friends pack alone.

Took my son out for a little guys time for his 13th birthday. We got a backhaul to Glen Canyon dam, and paddled back to Lee’s ferry. The water was pretty tame, but it is super cold. You could get in trouble with the wind if you weren’t careful, especially in a canoe or a boat that could capsize. The views were stunning. We caught a few fish, but I found it difficult to fish out of a canoe in such swift current. Next time I’ll bring waders and fish more from the shore. It was under a heat advisory, and the ground was so hot I couldn’t sleep. One we got on the water it was ok. Good times.

Yeah, fresh water was a must. A cot would be nice to keep you off the ground, but that’s a lot to haul up there. The guy in camp next to me got so hot he slept in his raft. But then he got cold...lol no win situation.

I bought a Toyota a few months back. I found dealerships to be less than private party across the board. Chapman bmw in chandler had some pretty good deals .

Well, living in payson is not what it was. You can’t go anywhere on the weekends. The traffic is too bad. With all these people, the fires get worse every year. You can’t hunt, without stepping on people, or getting stepped on. You can’t fish without waiting in line. I’ll never be able to afford a place big enough to have a mule or a horse so I can get back in the wilderness. Land is so expensive it’s stupid up here. I’ll probably never afford to have a decent garden or live stock. Crooks are fighting for control of the town. Which I guess happens anywhere. if I had 40 acres in South Carolina, that would be 40 more to myself than here. Plus the coast is a hop away. There are more opportunities for the kids. id like to move to sc or nc, and go to Alaska or Canada every other year.

I’d check out somewhere near Smokey mountain national park in north or South Carolina. I’ve been thinking about somewhere near Hendersonville, NC. Access to mountains, to too far from the coast. Not too cold, either.

Ground blind. You can get away with a lot more. A ghillie suit could snag your bow string.

When is the cicada hatch on the rim? Was wanting to do a little fly fishing. Went to willow last week, they were hitting worms, but only playing with the flies.

Anyone ever float lees ferry in a kayak or canoe? I was thinking of getting hauled up there and fishing/ camping the way back. Wanted to make sure it was somewhat safe, as I was gonna have my 12 year old son with me, he bought himself a fishing yak.

Long Range Fixed Blade Field Point Accuracy

Yeah, and honestly that bow is miserable to shoot. Absolutely miserable. But, it kills things. You gain here, you lose there. -
Long Range Fixed Blade Field Point Accuracy

My experiences with shwacker have been flawless. I’ve killed 3 deer and 2 elk. Nothing made a 100 yards. Only 2 were not pass throughs, one a hard quartering to shot on a bull, which I aimed for the liver as the lungs were covered by shoulder. Arrow was lodged in the paunch, probably 8 inches of fletching sticking out of the bull. I cut his liver in half, he went nowhere. (Other bull was a 50 yards shot, pass through, arrow went another 10-15 yards before it stopped. ) One deer did not pass through, it was hard quartering away. I shot him in front of his back leg, arrow was buried in opposite shoulder. He went less than 50. other deer were pass through as far as I can remember. of course I try not to hit the shoulder unless it’s a white tail. my bow is probably 320-325 FPS set up to hunt. It is flat and fast. One day I will hunt with a recurve. Till then, I need every advantage. just my opinion, but I can’t find a reason to shoot a fixed blade. I don’t think the shwacker would break an elk shoulder. But not sure how a fixed blade would do, either. I hit a muley a few years back low on the shoulder with a ulmer edge, did not kill him. A week later he wasn’t even limping. -
Wow. Congrats to your buddy. 🦌

It’s hard for me to imagine why anyone would want to shoot a fixed blade broadhead unless you’re shooting low poundage. I’d look at sevr or shwacker. You can eliminate all these tuning problems by just shooting a well designed mechanical. You still have to shoot a tuned bow, but it’s a lot less finicky. accuracy is everything. Shoot the mechanical and put it in the lungs. I don’t see any advantage to a fixed blade.
