we had similar fires last year where I hunted while I didn't shoot a monster we gave it he!! elk didn't go anywhere. I would think as long as it's not a raging fire like 6Anut said should be good. after it's out should be all kinds of new growth popping up when it rains James

years ago there was 1 (skin) in jake's corner before it torched was over 6 ft..... it was huge. eastern diamond backs get bigger... I believe in the 50's there was 1 measured 7' something... unless he's 4' tall that thing is an illusion. no 8' + rattlers even at 3' I hate em though... nothing gives the heebeegeebees like those things! hate the wind! located gobblers Saturday and Sunday morning. 2 hrs of trying to get 3 gobblers into our set up... had a lonely hen come in from behind us... she was really vocal but must of seen us and didn't go to the gobblers that were in front of us.... they came into what sounded like 70 yds or so but wouldn't commit. Sunday located again... coyote came through about 15 minutes in and pushed them out a bit farther, but they started coming closer then a hen popped up right next to us at 7 yards in the thick stuff... no toms in sight. both mornings they were really vocal for 2 1/2 hours. What a blast though... I really need to go to a seminar. the hen came in to a pot call with some purrrs. was fun in the mornings. James
