Way to hold out for a stud! Great write up. A big congratulations! James

if chiggers are tearing you up then deet up and hunt the wind. tuck your pants into your socks... I can't cause mine usually aren't long enough... Haha the chiggers like the tenderonie parts of your skin... skin that touches skin (arm pits) backs of the legs and seem to get where the clothes are tight; ie; waist band, sock line.... nut sack. they can reach your waist in like 15 minutes. I read sulphur powder works but that crap reeks! if you are sitting you need to re apply every couple hours. James

they work good in a blind for flying insects... skeeters and gnats not so much for spiders, 1 or 2 always gets in with me and I hate spiders. you'll just be sitting there and look over out the mesh window and we are like eye to eyes. haha! I always take mine. James

Still trying to locate Bulls for my first Elk Hunt in 6A:(
JLW replied to TwoOneEight Photography's topic in Elk Hunting
I have bears yotes, fox, deer, elk, wildland firefighters on foot and in a ranger, also a rancher on a quad...the animals are used to different scents. I also take my dog when checking cams and hours after checking they still visit. James -
if you have cash stacked and are ready to splurge... don't buy used. go to Ross Outdoors (that would be the closest to your location that is top notch in knowledge and service) and see whats in your price range and shoot before you buy. don't impulse buy because it looks cool! James

easy fix... go to wallyworld and by replacement fiberglass tent poles cut to size and replace the end pieces and put the hub back together. James

R12-4-322 B. If not contrary to federal law or regulation, an individual may pick up and possess naturally shed antlers or horns or other wildlife parts that are not fresh without a permit or inspection by a Department officer. you don't have to call for every pick up... they put this in a last year or maybe a couple years ago.... of course it prolly doesn't pertain to this situation... if it were to close for the year the message would say yearly quota was met, if not it will open on the next scheduled hunt. I just called the harvest line and there were no closures... you guys are sneaky..haha James

any salt is legal. table salt, pool salt, water softener salt.... all of that is salt which is legal. trophy rock is salt based material not produced for livestock. that is why I believe it is not legal. mineral salt at the feed store is legal because it is a salt based product produced or manufactured for livestock. by the way as soon as this mineral salt gets some rain or pour water on it yourself the animals in the area will smell it and will come and get it. whether or not it's does/cows or bucks and bulls depends on if you are where they live. JLW posted a topic in The Campfire
anyone see this show last night on the debate between , I believe; the sierra club and a rep from game and fish. If you missed it here's the link.. the first is about the lame rail the second is about the national monument they want to add near the grand canyon. http://www.azpbs.org/video/vidlink.php?vidId=2331 James -
We did it a couple years back...no other hunters gotta think outside the box. talk to the warden he can give you some tips. Buddy called in a bull and smoked him with a brush gun lever .44 mag james
