Which Brand and Model to Buy

I forgot to add that KodiakOutdoors is located in Tempe. The bows are currently made in CA, but I understand that they are moving the manufacturing to Tempe as well.

Which Brand and Model to Buy

I shoot a KodiakOutdoors Bowlogic 36. My buddy who shoots a PSE really likes my bow, but then don't we all like the newest rifle/bow our buddies get. Especially when ours is a year or two old I did not go with their rest and sights, but you can get it as a kit with sights and a dropaway rest for around $700. I picked it becasue it felt good to me and is light. I shot a Mathews Outback (Heavy and fat grip), Hoyt Xtec (almost got it) and a PSE (can't remember which one, but really quiet). They are all great shooters. The KO just felt the best to me. Mathews and Hoyt are more expensive if that is a limitng factor. Although the reflex bows are similar to Hoyt (same company) I'm not a fan of short axles bows, just never felt right to me. Bottom line is shoot a few and pick.

    1984 Suburban

My grandfather had same problem two different trucks On one he broke down and bought a new starter from GM and problem was solved. On the other, if I remember correctly, we created a heat shield of some sort between starter and engine. It's been awhile so I don't remember what we thought was causing problem (manifold heat, or engine block), but this also seemed to resolve problem.
  5. Okay I must be out of touch on terminolgy, but what is everyone referring to when using the word CARP? I am assuming it is not the fish.

    Silly Question

Well, I knew the Coues was a more elegant and finer species, but Rembrant and Lark have have both provided eloquent explanations. I learn something new everyday on this website

    Montana bear test

Passed with an 87% first time no training. Doesn't make me a bear hunter, but not a bad idea. Of course now I wonder how do people shoot the wrong ones when a novice like me was able to score that high.

    Jan Bowhunting bucks and boars

Well, No pre-season scouting and less than 24 hours of hunting equals no bucks and no boars. Saw lots of pig sign Sun morning, but wind was wrong so we drove way around to come in with favorable wind and mother nature played with us and switched the wind direction. Saw a herd of 25+ mulies Sat afternoon. All of the animals we could verify were does and it was getting towards dark so we decided to forego the stalk. Would've been a couple of mile hike just to find out if there were any bucks. Bar T almost had a stalk on a forked horn Sunday, but they busted him and took off. The last two seasons have basically been getting familiar with areas for Coues, Elk, Mulies and Jaelina's so next year should be good for my hunting party if we don't get a wild hair and put in for new areas. Jan Bowhunting bucks and boars

Heading down to Wilcox this weekend our tags are good for 27-32. Planning to hunt a couple of areas my buddy's cousin has seen deer and javelina. Probably our only chance to hunt this season. Hope we're lucky. Mike

    Tikka T3

I shoot a T3 in 270 win. Great rifle and the trigger is about the best for an out of box gun. The Stds have the 22" barrel the magnums have a 23" plus barrel Mike

    Jan Bowhunting bucks and boars

couesdiehard, we haven't made it down yet. planning on hunting MLK weekend. We have units 27-32 so quite a wide range to pick from. Not 100% sure, but I think were planning to hunt near Kansas Settlement I believe we have some permission from some farmers in the area. Wish we would have put in for the 36 ABC hunt as I'm more familiar with the area. We'll also have archery deer tags. Anybody with any suggestions for these units?
  12. I was at the Sportsmens Warehouse grand opening and they announced that they would be opening in Mesa and Tucson within the year. So you folks down n Tucson will actually have a great hunting/fishing store. Bass Pro is supposed to open in Mesa as well (I believe next to the IKEA store). I have heard rumors that Cabela's is looking at AZ as well. I am somewhat biased to Sprotsmans since it started out West (Utah).

judging hold over on a coues

"Help Cecil Help!!" "I'm comin' Beanie Boy!!" I haven't thought of that in years. Now I know what I'm supposed to do when it rains during AZ hunting season

    Bow suggestions

Time to upgrade my son's bow and am curious what you all think. We've spent the last year shooting a $19 walmart special just focusing on proper form and building the muscles to draw a heavier bow. He has no trouble pulling a 10 lb draw and I'd like to get him working to heavier poundage. I'd also like to get him shooting a "real" compound with a sight. All of the men he shoots around have compounds with sights so that is his desire. Any suggestions? Second question I need a new bow. Been out of bowhunting for awhile and I'm ready to dive back into it. Cost isn't really an issue, but I don't want to spend for no reason. GOing to spend some time over the next couple weeks shooting various bows, but would like some suggestions on where to start. Mike

    36B nov. hunt

I'm heading back down tonight. Didn't see any shooters opening weekend. My buddies are still down there and I understand they each missed one Wednesday so at least they are seeing them. Hoping tomorrow will be a good day. I believe cousediehard tagged out Wed. Mike

    deer seen

We were in 36B. I saw about 12 does Friday and Sat am. My buddies dad saw a spike. Didn't get to hunt Sun. Hopefully they are having luck. I'll be back down Fri night I did see Couesdiehard down there and his luck wasn't much better than ours by Sat evening. Forest service said Oct hunt hit them pretty hard. Wall to wall hunters and quite a few deer taken out.

    november hunt.

Grew up in Huntington Beach and went to USC. Then got out of that crazy state, bad traffic, bad politics, anti-gun, and to top it off it's overpriced. Mike

    Hunting the Fringe...

My parent's live in Marana, under 3,000 ft and they have pictures of coues walking through their yard one Christmas. I might have to try bowhunting their land

    Bow suggestions

Good question. If I had my way we'd both be shooting new bows. However, my better half sees things differently and his bow is his big Christmas present from Santa so he has to wait. I think he also gets a lesson in delayed gratification this way or some such thing. Sczoner

    Bow suggestions

Well, Thansk for all the input. I went and bought myself a new bow at Archery HQ. Shot Matthew, Hoyt, PSE and Kodiak Outdoors. Settled on the KO36. Lightest of the bunch and at least as smooth and queit in my mind. Plus the corp office is in Tempe. 20yd pin is set and now it's time to get out to the range and set the rest. I'll be getting my boy the micromidas for christmas.
  23. My group may be up for it. I'll check with everyone and see. Would be about 5 of us
