Nice pics, fun time of year preparing for fall. Good luck

A bull I really liked did not turn into anything special, but a few decent bulls on cameras.

I apologize in advance. I am not one to drag on and on about something, but this has just been too cool. I haven't picked it up yet, but my AK Mountain Goat is finished. Thanks Clay for working with me and getting an absolute awesome mount finished. I will start another thread when I get it up on the wall. Just a few pics from hunt FINAL PRODUCT

First off it is a bull elk tag so feel blessed...2 this hunt can be very bad...depending on feed/water/pressure you can often times go 2-3 days without seeing a branched antler bull. I've been lucky to help take some of the best bulls I've seen taken on this late hunt and I still don't like it... Some years you find bulls regularly on our side...most years they stay in the rez.

+1 on the goodfeet store. I've eliminated all low back pain. Takes some getting used to it has been almost 15 years for me and I don't go anywhere without them.

Sorry about the quality, I run most of my cameras close to my house in 3c and it is notorious for getting cameras swiped so I use pretty cheap cameras.

great footage, awesome job

Your link shows them on clearance for $140??? I think I'm seeing it right...

After I shot my mountain goat in AK last fall I spent an insane amount of time trying to decide what pose to have Clay mount my Goat. I literally saved hundreds of pics to my phone and computer and sent a few to friends to help in the decision. Most all of the goats I saw online I was not happy with, Clay told me that mine would have more hair and not to be too worried but after spending so much money on the hunt and money on the mount I wanted to have a mount that I loved. With Clay's help a decision was made and Clay spent a great amount of time adjusting the form to create this beautiful goat mount, after some drying time and finish work he will be ready to come home. I am super excited to say the least.

I really like a 5 pin slider. they are set at 20,40,50,60,70...... Skipping 30, pretty easy to shoot a 30 yard animal with a 20 yard pin. (this is for me a spot and stalk hunter, in a blind or stand it would be different I'm sure)

Beary Cool Sighting
WHT_MTNMAN replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
Very Cool, Lots of bears in that part of the state. -
I will, I thought I had the place all picked out, but that may change. We will see.
-
I also have 15 points for UT but don't see any hope with the horrible draw odds, hence the reason I decided to go to AK

Thanks, I was super impressed by the amount of hair on this billy. Very cool to say the least, will be nice to put him on the wall in a few weeks

just saw this, good luck, positive thoughts and prayers your way..

I bet this bull has very little growth left and it was June 2nd. Just because they have a month left to grow doesn't mean they will. Some start and finish earlier than others. earliest I've seen a 6x6 in a while
-
I figured I would keep the thread alive to see how it pans out. This bull started slow but probably will turn into something good. This was taken May 20th. quite a few bulls had grown much bigger. This was June 4th, This last few weeks should show what he has become.

How many do you have?

Elk love the camera, I have more close up pics of elk tongues, mouths, etc... than anything else.

Is it a 2015? Looks like the 2015 finish on riser?

That bull would not be on my hit list on any hunt, That being said if he comes by on a late archery hunt he probably would get an arrow. He is not a very big bull score wise. Very cool bull though. I seriously doubt he will be growing a lot more, each tine is showing signs of pointing out, very little growth is left. His beams will have some but I would bet that is about all.

This guy doesn't need 4x4. I saw him a few times the last few years.
