WHT_MTNMAN replied to WHT_MTNMAN's topic in Elk Hunting
Lemme get that sound file? I think everyone is using the same one. especially up here in 3c. -
It has been a relatively slow hunt all over the state, this next week will be awesome. Good luck.

I Definitely Have A Sickness
WHT_MTNMAN replied to lancetkenyon's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
That is funny, my wife and kids were out of town a month or so back, my suppressor was coming, and in so I decided I needed a new gun to shoot while they were gone. So I bought the same gun, it sure is a sweet rig, I always justify myself saying it could be a lot worse, I could be spending money on a lot worse things, just ask trphyhntr. -
That is awesome, I've been getting ready to do that trip for a few years now, just need to make it happen. Nice job!

My good buddy tried to post but he wasn't able to. Jeremiah killed this buck spot and stalk at 35 yards. He enjoys looking at others success and wanted to share his success. What an awesome buck for a great guy.

My first guess was vortex scope.. 2Nd like others have said is needs a great thorough cleaning. I've seen them open up to giant groups 4-5" groups at 100 yards and shrink back down after the cleaning...

Triclawps...try shooting prone or even sitting with a bipod on a steep downhill angle..

Just got off the phone with a buddy, raining fairly hard and consistent up there.
-
Raining off and on in Pinetop today. Supposed to get more as the day progresses.

Awesome, I wanted a wolf so bad when I went up there. One of these days.

Great job!!!

Thanks Everyone- he appreciates it. There is a chance that these are sheds from his buck, I found them a few weeks ago in the same area. I also found a matching shed to his 100"+ Coues he shot last year on the rifle hunt that I gave to him. If these are from his buck, I haven't compared them very close, I'm not giving these up.

Opening day archery Az Strip buck!
WHT_MTNMAN replied to Capt. Don Martin's topic in Mule Deer Hunting
Don that is a great buck and one anyone should be proud of, BUT have you seen some of the Giant bucks that have come off the strip this year! The ones that scout the most and put the most amount of time up there are killing true giants, not just great bucks. -
Again I tend to agree a 100% with you, but I also want my equipment to be tuned, checked and rechecked so that anything that is wrong is 100% (or as close) shooter error. I try to spend many hours fine tuning my bow, making sure bow is at all specs, from paper tune, adjusting shims, bare shaft, broadhead, Leveling and mounting all sights etc...Knowing Joel I'm sure his bow is in tip top shape, BUT sometimes we slap a sight on thinking that the 1st-3rd axis are good. Most times it is, sometimes it is not, fairly easy to level bow and then check sight.
-
^^^You said that like 3 times... And though I tend to agree with you...Torque is rarely consistent. I would really double and triple check your 2nd axis...
-
Seems to me it would be your 2nd axis. I had the same problem a few years back on a bow. I was shooting almost perfect out to 100 and was almost 2 feet to the left at 130. Took me a while to figure it out, but was an easy fix, with your arrows "grouping" to the left I would bet it is your 2nd axis. call or text if you want to talk more about it Houston edit Of course your 2nd axis could be off due to form but this close to the hunts it will be tough to completely change or adjust your form IMO.

There is not a single tine or beam length that can be guessed, all you can see is frame. My guess he is probably a great buck and should be killed, but no way can anyone give you a score.

Promaster is my favorite...outdoorsman is a great tripod but not for the price...heavier and in the shop more frequently

I saw the pics on my phone, not sure why they are not showing up on the computer, looked to me like a real hungry lion. Cats stay quite thin unless they are on a kill. He was very thin though.

You will...not everyone cares about social media.

I saw one at the hub the other day. Might could get it at a decent price. I don't know how flexible they are on price..
