Actually IMO this time of year in 3b is almost exactly like Dec. Not much has changed.

It's a Motorola, the owner was probably trying to throw it away.

Crispi is one of the best boots available imo. Very tough to find anywhere to try them on though. They have synthetic/full leather depending On your wants and needs...

backpacking tents.... what are you guys using?
WHT_MTNMAN replied to 1denogean's topic in Other Hunting Gear
DB. I have done my fair share of winter backpack hunts both here in the Show Low area and AK. As long as you are prepared it is a great way to go. On the flip side nothing is worse than being unprepared. IMO order of importance 1. Sleeping bag and tent 2. Plenty of fuel to heat water. I've spent many days standing around in blizzard like conditions drinking hot water with anything for flavor. 3. Good boots and a way to,dry them 4. Camp chair to get you off the ground if you will be in the snow. I'm sure there are other things more important but these are high on my list. -
I think it is because of flatlanders love affair with 4B and the recurrent theme of how good 4B is...yes it has and can produce great animals... high quality hunt it definitely is not.

Great job!!! "Scrounge" up some Kuiu huh???
-
I shot them for a while and they performed great, but they are not very tough. Lots of broken arrows when I missed or had pass throughs.

That is actually a pretty decent bull. I agree he is a young bull with slightly shorter beams but great 3rds good fronts and 4ths. Mass fair to good..I bet he pushes 330-40 with an average width. 5x5 like that I would call big..

I'm using a northface tadpole from about 15 years ago when I worked at Popular Outdoor stores. Still going strong. I've been very happy with it. -
Great job! Very cool

Sounds like the precedent has been set quite a while ago. I would never force my kid in a truck to go hunting. That, discipline should, have, been done long ago under different circumstances...I would do everything in my power to make hunting fun, even if it means hunting 1 day and sightseeing, playing games eating food and whatever the next 6 days.

Joe Pickett gets a win and we get a black eye...

Good on Ol Joe Pickett. -
COA- I wouldn't admit you couldn't tell the difference between an elk and deer track on the internet. It is crazy how low I've seen elk over the last few years.
