I hate wearing a 10" boot, and from all that I've read and studied the main thing a taller boot gives you is ankle protection, not support. The support is dependent quite a bit on the stiffness of the shank and not the height. All that being said I took 120+ lbs off an incredibly steep mtn in AK on my Goat hunt and the boots did great, me on the other hand was pretty beat up.

No offense to the above post but Danner pronghorns do not hold up at all compared to a real good quality boot. I have had multiple pairs of danner pronghorns and they have their place for sure. I have never used the Crispi Idaho, but I have the Crispi Wyoming and I love them, I've been very happy with the fit and comfort. The sole is very quiet, but has also held up well for me. The fit with Crispi is better than most boots I've worn, including all things Danner, Vasque, Kenetrek and a few others.

I think I read that Kuiu is releasing the attack pant and guide jacket in solid colors. Guide jacket and attack pant have always been in solid colors, They are just adding more options of solid colors. As far as I know the guide pant still isn't being offered in Solid.

I use backcountry navigator and can dowload before and use without service. Great app not much experience with the others..

That is a great story and a huge accomplishment. Wide open flat country and you did it in a wheelchair! Awesome!

Welcome to the site and to CW. Lots of good info on Az game and fish website, but I think you are on a good path with unit 32 and 33. Both have good populations of Coues. If I may offer one suggestion. Usually during the Archery hunts, (August, Dec, and Jan) finding a Coues buck will not be the challenge. It will be making it all come together with archery tackle. I really enjoy backpack hunts and normally prefer to get away from the crowds myself, but in these hunts, the best recipe for success will be multiple attempts, shots, stalks etc...on Coues bucks. For that reason I don't always recommend spending your energy "getting away". Spend your energy and your time getting close. Good luck to you!

On my cams I saw more extras last year, this year I see more inlines. Like your bottom 6x7. Lots of 7's etc.. Great looking bulls. Congrats to those with tags, its always fun this time of year. -
At one time I had an outdoorsmans, Large bogen, swarovski, vortex, and 2 promaster xC325 I used the 325 90% of the time..I'm sure there are others but for just a bit over $200, it is hard to beat. The 525 is a bit bigger and costs a bit more.

My eyes are narrow and I put an extra small plate on the bottom and the adjust to the narrowest just fine..

I hope everyone freaks out, especially about the prarie dogs. They have let (introduced) them into places they have never been. P-Dogs are destroying private property all over Az

I don't know for sure what the 40s are but probably 34 or 36. Kuiu runs longer than most

I prefer the low one and keep it attached to my binos at all times

Just my opinion but I would get the panhead and get another tripod. The outdoorsman tripods are good but you can get as good for less money. The panhead is almost unbeatable for size, weight and functionality. If you save on the tripod then buy new panhead. Good luck

Who's headed out this weekend

I know this is a rez bear but pretty cool. Sow before my boar came in. Boar Hopefully I'll make it out to look for a giant bear I found last year. -
I'm not sure how common it is, but I have something on camera that is freshly broken almost every year. This was this year.

Digiscoping newbie questions
WHT_MTNMAN replied to Jazz's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
FOV is the difference between binos and spotter. Almost impossible to freehand a phone on a spotter. The phonescope will help in that aspect. -
It is pretty funny, over the years I've found that bull elk are more intrigued and love the camera more than any other animal. Another quick video with standard youtube music, look past the quality of video for the bulls. I almost deleted the last video until I saw the last 2 seconds. Pretty solid bull. I don't get very many good Coues bucks on my elk cams but this one might turn into something special.

If anyone wants to put in for 3c for Coues they can have at it!!! Not too much of a secret for mule deer and elk thanks to many people and outfitters long before me.
-
Beautiful bucks Phil!! Nicely done!
-
I have plenty of pics of Coues bucks but never one that could be decent in 3c. Lots in 22,23 and 27 over the years

I have no idea what this bull scores, but they are saying it has the most mass of any bull they have killed???? (Instagram says heaviest typical) To me that probably means probably 70"+ of mass. If it really has that much mass than it probably has beams pushing 60". I start adding up the numbers from there and it could be a hammer possibly well over 400" but who knows, I hope the guy killed it because he really wanted to not because of a number for sure.

Standmans post reminded me of I took some last week.

Exactly I guess this thread won't make it to page 2 with me agreeing with you.
