Swaro refurbishing - need some info

I had a black pair built around 2006 and sent them back no problems. I've sent a few different pairs back for cleaning and maintenance and the only time I was charged was when I dropped them and actually broke glass. I believe I was charged $200.

    Bull Elk are Tough!!

Since the elk season has started I was thinking back on how tough bull elk really are. I have gutted/cleaned/processed many bulls with old bullets, broadheads etc.. still in them. I am never surprised anymore on what a bull can withstand. A few years ago, I thought I hit a bull perfectly, even had my buddy film him walking away with blood midbody right behind the shoulder, this bull proceeded to go over 3 miles. My first arrow was at 7:30 am and my last was at 6pm. It was the craziest thing I had experienced. Also a couple of years ago I was helping a friend and he made a perfect shot (see picture) this bull stayed alive for almost 8 hours before we were able to glass him up and then close the distance. This picture was taken literally 5 or 6 hours after the shot. They are incredibly tough. Anyone else have stories or pictures showing the incredible will to live these bulls have, Post em up! congrats to all of those elk hunting.

    Opinions on Husqvarna Rancher 450

Huskys are great saws. I'm partial to having a dealer close by. I like doing my own general maintenance and repair but I like have someone close that knows inside and out of my saw. For that reason I'm running a Stihl as my main saw

Bear rug prices !!!!! Need help please

$1000-1500 is probably average for a quality rug. Find someone reputable. It's not worth saving a little bit of money to have your hide ruined or take 4+ years to get it back, ugly mount or worse never see it again.

    Coues deer

I have never seen the lack of water affect deer much but I've also never seen Elk effected by drought as bad as this year. It really surprised me.. I'm sure I got affect and effect wrong

    Coues deer

Deer are all but finished by middle to the end of August even if they stay in velvet the rest of Sept. I rarely see much growth in Sept. If we get late rains the grass doesn't start to grow until 2-4 weeks after the good rains, which puts the deer almost finished before good grass shows up. My .02

    Coues deer

Sure is nice to see the deer were not affected nearly as bad as the elk, for a while I was a bit worried. Great looking bucks

    Pellet Stove vs Wood Stove

I have and use both from Nov-March. Pellet is a nice simple way to keep warm but I love having a fire. When I get too old to cut or split my wood I'll go to a pellet stove exclusively..

    2017 Mexico !!

It was an incredible week of Coues hunting in Mexico again. Hot temps and full moon made for a little tougher conditions, but deer were moving all day because of it. It was a little tough getting all 8 killed out in 6 days. What a great group of guys/friends and I couldn't have asked for a better time in Mx. I think next year I'll stick with 5 or 6 guys. I am still looking for my 120+" non typical but I was fortunate to have good friends Rob/Jay and Andrew glass this buck up on the opposite side of the ranch on the last day. Hard to pass a 102" mainframe 2x2 so I didn't. thanks guys. I've killed plenty of typical bucks and am always looking for something a little unique, well this one will do. Another brother on the far left and Rob. Thanks again buddy. Great trip as always huge thanks Richard and Rob for helping get it together again. I was lucky enough to go with 3 of my brothers. 2 of which bought tags. After all of the years I've been down I'm glad they were able to go with me. All 8 tags filled Beautiful Coues country.
