yeah the wet weather isn't helping,but its supposed to dry out this week so we will see. i went from a few bulls(not trophies) to only Cows WTF! oh well if there's cows there's bound to be something with antlers on it somewhere....I hope!

i also have a late November archery hunt in 4b, this is my first ever elk hunt...I've been told that at that time of year its best to hunt tanks and the canyons where they are bedding and staying out of the wind and snow....I've got a tank with bulls coming in on it so that's my strategy...good luck!

id like to hear about 4b. cause i havent been hearing or seeing much of anything....

i was in 4b this weekend and didnt see or hear anything........just wondering what everyone is seeing and hearing out there?

i had a camera out a month ago and only got two pics that are in the late day light hours all the rest have been at night....i'm curious as to how the snow will change things..this is after all my first time hunting Elk!!

i talked to another hunter and his wife(they have rifle bull tags)and said they hadn't seen anything in days...i have the late archery bull hunt so its time to get it going...i have a camera out now so we will see what goes on this week...

im new to the unit and can use all help i can get.....first Elk hunt ever....

Cool. I've been looking at maps and I believe the west side of the unit is my starting point....we will see what the cameras have to show.....

we were down there this weekend having a good time, doing some glassing(didnt see anything)over by the silverbell mine,when we were told by some dude with a security coat on that we were camping on Mine property wich was not allowed,funny thing is is that is not posted in any way in the area we were at, he said that he could call the cops if we didnt leave. this was saturday night so we were leaving in the A.M. anyway.... so now i need to find a new spot.... anyone got any ideas?? i'm running outa time...

i just picked one up today and i wanna use it for my hunt if it will get the job done.my other option is a 270cal.......

ok ok ok...i called azgfd today and the .17hmr would be legal if it were a center fire BUT its NOT....and i agree with azbowhunter, it should be over as quickly as possible for the animal...so its gonna be the 270 for sure.. guess i just got excited, ive wanted one for awhile finnaly got one and wanted to use it....

im confused.....yes it was a short trip....lol.....i know the .270 will do it,but the .17hmr is just so much lighter to carry around...i just need to find time and call tomorrow.... thanx again everyone..

on page 13 of the fall turkey,javelina regs it just says any firearm,crossbow etc etc, nothing about having to a center fire or noy..... i think i will call AZGF tomorrow... thanx again....

i just checked the regs, and it says any firearm is legal.... i think im gonna give it a go... with the round moving 2250fps i think it should do fine.... thanks for the input everybody..

i onc saw a cow elk down by the sheep bridge on the verde, took me a minute to figure out what the heck i was looking at..same trip had about 20 or so quads come riding in and 3 of the girils got off there bikes and went skinny diping....my brother in law and i were on the bridge..... i shot a rattle snack this year while dove hunting, let it sit there for a minute and when i came back there was a buzzerd on it, that bird tore the s-t out of it.. had a black bear in 23north witin a 100 yards and didnt know he was there till he got up to leave... I Love the outdoors!!!!

while sighting mine in i keep jumping the shot, my pattern is still in a 2-4 inch group on center but i would like to be better, any thoughts on how not to jump the shot?

i belive its called the J-13 call.... has anyone used it and did you have any luck with one? im thinking about getting one....

what can i expect outa 37a? this will be my first trip down there and i am kind a nervous about it, i will definitly be heavily armed so i am good there,but should i lock everything up like fort knox, leave water outside and hope they dont mess with the camper, or am i just parinoid? any thought?
