I have used this same Kowa scope for years. It can't be beat for price, weight and performance! Super value, fits in your pack with room to spare. Take a look! The guy who hijacked this ad is comparing a much heavier scope, but he must be bull to pack that sucker.

I own both the Icon Pro 3600 and 5200 and the Ultra 1800. The Ultra 1800 is my archery pack. I have hauled my elk in that pack (many trips). I have dragged it thru the gnarliest cat claw and similar vegetation hunting Coues deer. Not a mark can be found. My decision was what could I fit into it. I did not worry about durability and still don't.

The 8x32 EL's are a great optic for archery and back pack hunting. Very light weight, great field of view, super bright! When archery hunting I don't need to reach out with more magnification. They are part of my optics kit which include Swaro 10x42, 15x56 and Kowa spotter TSN 770 (best bang for the buck) You won't be sorry to add these to you quiver!

I carry 10x42's along with a Kowa TSN-774 spotter (50 oz) vs my 15x56 swaro's at 43 oz. Great combo for spot and stalk!

RangeFinder Sling/harness Suggestions

Thanks for posting the photos! I'll give your idea a try! -
I have 8's, 10' 15's and spotter. Bino's are all Swaro, spotter is Kowa. For sitting 15's are great, but for stalking they are too shaky for me without a tripod. 10's are my go to!

I have the Slik Pro II with the Manfrotto 700RC head. A fantastic lightweight set up. I will never use the pistol grip again. The tripod fully extended is the perfect height for me 5'11". Main drawback is it cannot handle the weight of a spotting scope and be stable. Too much vibration. The fix is to use it in a seated position, with a spotting scope, and not rely on the skinny legs for stability. It is rock solid this way. Used it yesterday and glassed up numerous deer and 1 enormous lion.

Kowa Spotter VS. Swarovski Spotter
AzRincon replied to SuperiorBowHunter's topic in Optics and tripods
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I looked long and hard through many scopes and chose the KOWA 774. It was 2/3 the price of the Swarovski STS80HD and in my eyes it is brighter, every bit as clear, same weight, easily fits in the pack. Comparable in weight to my 15x56's. My hunting partner has had both STS65HD and STS80HD. Side by side the KOWA finds game better in low light situations. I have tested the Swarovski warranty and it is without peers. I have yet to need the Kowa warranty services but in the mean time that $1000 savings bought a Winchester Model 70 in 300 Weatherby with a Leopold VX III 4.5-14x40 scope.
