Sweet there's still hope

My sister caught this bruiser the other day as soon as she landed it we knew it was definitely above average for a sunfish we waved over the park ranger he took pictures and recorded the weight 1pound 2 ounces we then asked my sister if she was gonna mount it she wanted to but also wanted to release the fish so we took some measurements with the only thing we had some nylon string then released the fish we measured the strings when we got home length was 11"5/8 girth was 12" we looked up catch and release records for sun fish and realized hers would brake any of the current sunfish records so on Monday we contacted game and fish they attempted to confirm the length of the fish with pictures and Hand measurements but today game and fish called and unfortunately there measurement was almost 10" and the current record is 10" Hard lesson but we will make sure we have a tape measure from now on in the tackle box Hope y'all enjoy the pictures

I would say 100% for the general hunt in 27 with four points

I was surprised when they said red only because there was no red line on the black part of the gill plate but when I googled redear sunfish a few similar fish came up show what I know

like there aren't hybrid deer either... LOL!I've caught hundreds of sunfish, bluegill, and thousands of crappie as a lot of people have.... never seen a sunfish like that James

I also thought it was a hybrid but game and fish are calling it a redear sunfish

I have shot 4 deer with my 222 savage 55 grain remmington psp the closest was 150 yards the farthest 400 none ran off the gun was all I had I always aimed behind the shoulder blade never hit bone a 223 will do the job but I wouldnt chance it my best whitetail was 107 inch at 300 all I could think before I shot was I wish I had somthing bigger your gun will doit good luck

Got my nephew a leftover tag for whitetail in 30a anyone got any suggestions on where we might have the best odds for filling a tag during the october hunt

I just bought two wildgame innovation micro w 2xc on ebay for around 120 they take good day time pics and 30 second videos the night pics dont have the same quality but cant beat them for the price imo

my grandfather gave me his 7mm i can put about 6or7 rounds through it then the shells start sticking and then get stuck after i clean the gun its good for another 6 or 7 iv tried several brands any know what might be causing this

Sweet idont usually take long shots except for when im practicing but it all about options

yes sir after i fire them each time i can feel them sticking more and more till finally i have to push a rod down the barrel to get the shell out iv tried letting the barrel cool completely down between each shot thinking this was the problem but still happens

Another year not drawn for the strip so we got left over tags again.Somehow we were able to fill all of our tags.

I agree we had a tagfor the first hunt passed on some smaller bucks got a shot at onefour pointer never got another shot after the second day kinda strange for that hunt

sorry bout not putting a story not very good at typing . The two pointer was my buddys first deer he tagged out the second day . It was pretty slow till the fifth morning then our buddy who tagged out glassed the 3x3 and four pointer up for us we got about fourhundred yards away waited for them to get up and luckly mad the shots .They were leftovers for the second hunt in30b thx
