I'll be out this weekend too in the wind. We'll see what happens. Might take tomorrow off to go watch the Captain America movie instead.

Thank you! Those pics of you waiting to draw are the coolest!

What tips would you give for bowhunting turkeys without a blind? I'll be going out these weekend bowhunting turkeys with or without a blind.

Broad head weight for a low poundage bow?
120carp replied to metau's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
Try all the different weights and which ever one shoots and tunes the best use it. -
My December deer also had these. Everything should be fine.

First off stop moving your finger to trigger the release. Use your back to move your finger back to trigger the release. I have a Carter "Squeeze Me" same process as a index finger release but it makes you use different muscles than normal. I read an article by Randy Ulmer on how he shoots over and over again. I've had it since I've started archery and this way finally suppressed it. My regular release is a Carter Quickie set really heavy and pull through the shot. It does take a lot of time but if your really serious you can break it. Stay head strong and this will pass. Just find a way that's feels right to you and work with it. Any more questions just pm me.

I shot my elk with them.

That wiseguy or try a carter. If you want a UPgrade.

Nothing really just the tollerances. If you go with the .006 exp's get an inch cut off the back and the rest cut off the front. This will help with the straightness. I just ordered some kinetic hunter 340 shafts they are .006 straightness. I shoot Axis which are .003. I'll let you know if theres any difference.

If you are having trouble flying broadheads use these vanes.

Each person is grip and draw specific. Shoot a few bows and figure it out. I shoot a hoyt with side plates. Just like you said dont get caught up in one brand and 1 or 2 cams just shoot the ones you would like to own. Every company is good. This is the funnest and hardest part about owning a bow. Good luck

No difference but the look. Both break, both are loud and both have warranty's. The only thing to think about is the cam system single or 2 cams.

Try something with a dual caliper. Whats good about shops is that you get to try releases before you buy.
-
Only you shooting them both can make that decision.

Anytime your moving your finger, your punching. All it comes down to. If you make your finger like a hook and pull through woith out moving your finger, thats more of a back tension release.

Read post number 4. http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=2023250&highlight=puncher+back+tension

If you shoot your bow like a rifle your a puncher. If you wrap your finger around your trigger and use your back and shoulders to pull through the shot you use back tension. I use a carter quickie + to achieve my back tension shooting.

For a lady go with something traditional like stingers or something with a Cut On Contact tip. Stingers 2 or 4 blades. Take no chances with penetration. Others I would look at are Wac'em Tritons or Exits little broadheads but have great performance.
-
Depending on how you shoot. If your a puncher or back tension shooter? Scotts and calipers are good for punchers. Carter's and other heavier trigger releases are for back tension guys. Try them all and decide.

WRite down your process step by step. Then work on each step individually until each one is worked out. But you need to do your process every shot and each step of the process right and the same way every time.

Lady from our office called AZGFD and they weren't aware of any of these credit card problems.

TruGlo Tru-Tec 5 Arrow quiver in Realtree extra. Has been mounted on my girls bow once and has never had a broadhead in the hood. The hood is rubber. The double grippers hold my axis arrows really tight. Pretty much a brand new quiver $40 tyd.
