Southern Units: When does the rut begin
double lunger14 replied to Airbusdriver's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
All depends on Weather... It needs to get cold to throw some does in heat. For mulleys I think towards the end of December when the ruts going good and for whitetails mid January. I could be wrong but this is what I've seen the last few years. -

Was just wondering if anyone has went out since the season has opened and how the birds are doing. Thinkning about going up for a couple days to do some hunting. Seen alot of birds already down here in the desert so I think the are moving down pretty early. -

Frustrated Archery Elk Hunter Any advice, words of wisdom
double lunger14 replied to RoughCut's topic in Elk Hunting
Look for birds and or coyote howels. The deer in my avatar was the same way. Blood everywhere for a long ways peices of meat or something on the ground in blood. Bubbles in blood i tracked it forever and the blood finally came to a end in a thick wash. I was so bummed and frusterated cause i knew i hit him decent with all the blood and bubbles. I wanted to give up on hunting after that cause i knew i might have just lost a awesome buck. I didnt give up though and the next day i had to work but my dad and brother headed back out in search of him. At first light my dad and brother heard some coyotes going crazy not to far up the road from where we last found blood. They headed that way and by the grace of god my dad glanced over and saw his tines shining. (from the truck). The bucked was so tired that a pack of coyotes took him down not 60 yards off of a well travled dirt road. I got lucky that my dad and brother got to him before anyone else did. Good luck man i hope you can find him. Dont give up. -

I go 20 30 40 50 60 70 80 95.... Kinda weird but it works well for me. Just takes a lot of practice to be consistent at the longer yardeges. -
Thanks Coach. I had a revtek 3 inch left before i put my procomp on it. It didnt ride well at all the steering wheel was always shaking really bad. It rides awesome with the 6 inch lift. Reganranch My toyos are holding up really well. I dont tow much besides our bass boat and quad trialer but with Tacomas being so lite ill be able to get 55+ thousand miles out of them. One heck of a tire.

Easton makes great arrows. I know they just came out with their 2012 models the injexion. I haven't heard much but I'm curious to start shooting some. Right now I'm usin the Easton A/C/C and it is a awesome arrow. Very lite and really strong and durable. My dad shoots the FMJ and loves them. I guess it all comes down to personal preference and how much your willing to pay for them.
