More than likely I'll be using my mathews next week on my hunt, but if all else fails I got my 7mm Ultra Mag (left) or my 270 (right) to choose from.

What does everyone use? I like to shoot out to 100 yards but its hard finding a sight that goes past 80 and that's a 7 pin. Right now I use trophy ridge western sight which is 9 pin but its just getting a little old. Some info would be appreciated. I shoot a Mathews Z7 at 72lbs 28.5 draw length.

Phewww this hunt was tough. We got up to unit 27 about 4 days before the hunt started to scout around and take pictures of good bulls. It seemed like it was going to be a good rut with bulls bugling throughout the day..... little did we know that come opening day they would all shut up. We got into some nice bulls opening day but none that caught my brothers attention. We glassed and hiked and glassed and hiked just to be discourage with all the other hunters everywhere out there blowing calls making the elk quite up. It rained for 10 out of the 11 days we were up there. My dad ended up getting sick Saturday through Monday so he couldn't really go out. My brother Gavin ended up getting sick Monday but it only lasted a day. Come Tuesday I was hunkered up in my sleeping bag with a terrible fever and I was just feeling so bad I couldn't do anything. I stuck around long enough to here my brothers excitement in his voice yesterday morning "I did it! I finally got my 1st archery bull I've worked so hard for" Man was I pumped to here him say that!!! I was really bummed that I couldn't be with him when he took the bull to know that my dad was 2 feet away from my brother when he shot his bull at 17 yards made up for it all. I've never seen my dad so happy before. It put a big smile on my face! I'm so happy for my brother Gavin cause I knew how bad he wanted a bull and to shoot this bull on the last day he could hunt due to school and football made it even better. I came back to Tucson yesterday do severe illness, but im feeling a little better today. Gavin will come back to town today so he can go back to school tomorrow. My dad is still up there for the remainder of the hunt so im Hoping he can tag out on a beautiful bull. Here's a few pics of the trip and I will keep you all posted on how my dads doing.

4 late December coues tags and 1 October tag for my family.... So far were 1-2 on bull elk tags this year! Hoping to fill all the deer tags

Unit 27 was a prime example of "cluster" and too many people this year. G&F should have just kept the # of tags where they have had them this whole time. They just love $$$$$$ to much. It's a Shame 😕

Thank you everyone! Already have seen some nice bulls and they are bugling throughout the day! Also went to a area where i set up my tree stand 2 weeks ago to check it and someone stole all my spikes leading up to my tree stand and wrote ok my buiness card i had left there "lucky rodent". i left my card just incase someone wanted to contact me to plan on dates to sit it as well becauae i wouldnt have minded at all. pry wont sit it now cause im bot sure if they messed with my straps or not.... people these days piss me off..... if you did this i hope karma comes back and bites you in the A**!! Sitting here in my trailer in the middle of the forest I'm real surprised I even get service.... It's only one bar but that's all I need. Missed a turkey twice yesterday so I need to stop doing that to save arrows and broad heads lol 😂😂. Getting ready to head back out now to a different area that we know holds really good bulls so I will keep everyone updated. Thanks again and good luck!

Had one open up in my quiver yesterday when I was stalking a deer even with the locking band now.... Was kinda pissed.

Unit 27 Bound 6am Monday baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did he get loose AGAIN! I thought I had him tied up pretty good this time. He had his orange collar on but i couldnt get close enough to read his dog tags! Hahaha On a serious note... i hardly hunt 33 and im willing to help people out who need it. Just let me know.

I can give you my honey hole for cotton tails in 33.....

Saw about a 120+ inch coues yesterday running with a smaller buck in 33 but I'm not telling you anything.... He's mine
