You could run into this in any unit but some are more likely then others..... Shoot 1st is the best advice I can give. Get accurate up to 100+ yards

I live a 8 iron away from there! I'll be attending -
Exactly why i dont answer people when they ask me what units i harvested animals in. I dont want to sound like a jacka$$ but people need to get out and do their own homework and not rely on internet sources.

Thank you everyone! Ya score doesn't really matter to me I was just wondering since it was my 1st buck! I would have been just as happy with a spike -

300 win mag or 300 wsm?!?
double lunger14 replied to BAG'N'TAG's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I use a 7mm Ultra Mag. Great rifle can reach way out there but the cost for a box of ammo is quite a bit -
Congrats Mr Clouse!! I had the same tag and yesterday was the only day i could go out and i saw a few deer one nice 3x3 but i came in early due to running into some drug smugglers! i hate them

Selling 35x12.5 Toyo Open Country MTs with 17' Mickey Thompson Classic Lock Rim
double lunger14 posted a topic in Classified Ads
Im selling my 35x12.5 Toyo Open Country MTs with 17' Mickey Thompson Classic Lock Rim. The Back Spacing on these rims are 4 1/2. They have been on my toyota tacoma so they are wearing well. They have about 45% tred left. I have used these to hunt and fish so the ring on the rims are scratched a little bit and there is some rubber missing from the tires. (not alot) Asking $1000 OBO. Selling this as a package deal. Im in tucson but i will meet in Casa Grande for Phx Residents. Thank You. -
your right same rack same guy- my dad lol ill post pics of my bros bull soon

Phew. Well after a long wait dad 14, me 11 and my brother 6 (years) we finally drew a unit 27 archery bull tag. This hunt was one of the hardest ive ever been on. Bulls were hardly talking and they would run everytime any hunter would blow a call. We walked our butts off, we hunted a few days in the Blue and that is some rugged terrain. . I think we pry walked 90+ miles in 3 weeks. My brother ended up shooting a 5x5 (pics will come when i download them) and the first monday of the hunt. It wasnt the biggest bull but it was his first kill with a bow so it was awesome! I was holding out for a bull that i was chasing that was near 400+ class. I got into him a few times but he had 35+ cows with him so thats alot of eyes. Unfortantely i didnt end up getting a elk this hunt but i had a 1 good oppurtunity 3rd to the last day and i missed oh well thats hunting. My dad ended up shooting a nice 7x7 the day i missed mine. He pry scores around 330-340. Unfortantely our camera battery was dead and no one had a cell phone when we found the bull. We did how ever snap a few photos of him when we got in that i will post. All in all we made some memories that will last forever!!

thank you guys... ya to be with my brother and dad when they took theres was enough fun for me!

haha we were all in the same boat :/ . By far the hardest hunt ive ever been on. My dad and i got up a week early too and scouted. Saw some decent bulls nothing to big. One day elk were screaming the next it would seem like elk didnt even live in the area.... I wanted to throw in the towel after about a week of nothing but hard hunting. My dad told me i couldnt give up that easy. It would make me so angry that i would work my butt off to intercept a bull to have other hunters start blowing calls and scare the bull off. idk if you guys had the same experience with calling but calling did nothing, if anything it had the oppisit effect and made the elk run away. I spent the 1st week inbetween middle mountain road and road 26 (along with about 50 other hunters)..... I did however find a nice bull that was pry 375 range but never did get a shot at him. My brother took a nice 5x5 in their. What we noticed was all the elk got presseurd and went over middle mountain road into the cambell blue area... (which was closed i think)... I never ended up getting a bull but i had a chance and just flat out missed so no one to blame but myself. My dad ended up getting a nice 7x7 so that was cool. Ide say we did pretty well filling 2/3 tags.

Thank you!

TJ, I think i saw yall heading out at about 4 am... i waved but it was earlyyyyyyy lol
-
i had the same tag as her..... drove by her camp last night and she was in early. Didnt see any antlers or elk hanging. :/ Unit 27 was a tough A$$ hunt this year. out of the whole hunt 3 good days of bugling!! blow a cow call and watch the elk run ...... hunters still did not learn and they kept calling!!!!! I didnt end up filling my tag but my dad got a nice 7x7 pry 335-340 and my brother got a 5x5. I was a good hunter and gave a gentleman who has a muzzleloader tag GPS cordinates of where a 400+ bull is hanging out. i chased him forever but screw his 40+ cows he had impossible to get in on them lol. hopefully other hunters had some good luck in this unit!!
