Like CnS said, you would have to be on a fairly steep slope to make that much change. At a 15 degree slope at 60 yards, that is only going to make a 1-3 yd change depending on whether you are going up or down the slope. All equipment setups are different, but generally you should see similar numbers with your set up.. Maybe you just had a bad shooting session? Was your brother coughing in your backswing??

I use a Primos GroundMax... You can call it the easy way if you want; I call it convenience. I can strap my blind on my pack, set it up in 2 minutes and then brush it in. Convenience is anything that is intended to save time, energy or frustration. There is a reason everyone is using them, because they are just that.... convenient

For a while now, I have used the FMJ 340's, and I love those shafts. But there are a few disadvantages of those I think. They are very expensive ($120/doz - ouch), and it is tougher getting a good offset or helical on them due to the really small diameter. Next year, I was thinking about going back to aluminum shafts like the XX78's or the XX75 Gamegetters (2315). I have never really been a fan of the carbons. I like the extra weight and KE of the aluminums and the aluminum/carbon hybrids. I also don't like having to check my carbon shafts for small cracks for fear they will explode in my hand when I shoot. Also, if your carbon arrow shatters inside game, it can be a pain in the a$$ to cut out all the carbon splinters in the meat. With the popularity with the new arrows, a lot of people went away from the aluminum shafts. I know the big disadvantages of aluminum is that they are a little slower, and can bend easy on a miss. But for $39.99/doz, who cares if you bend a few each year? Does anyone else here still like/shoot the old faithful alloys?

You need to shoot a WB with the cock vane up, or else the black whiskers are going to tear up your fletching, and most likely affect your arrow flight. The brown whiskers are the ones that the vanes pass through, the black ones are the ones that support the arrow shaft.

One suggestion would be to take a friend with you to the range, and have him load your weapon. Mix in some dummy rounds or snap caps into the rifle. It will help you realize how much you are anticipating the shot, and it should help your trigger control and stop you from anticipating. I have a friend in law enforcement, and they do those drills all the time with their handguns

$$$$$ He probably though he could resell the "CA State Record" racks for a profit. I would not be surprised if it has been sucessfully done before in the past.

That looks like a blast! I always see those rigs flying around Queen Creek, just south of US 60 east of Ironwood

I propose a new scoring system!
Garage Logic replied to SilentButDeadly's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
To each their own. If someone likes hunting alone, great. If someone likes bringing people to help fill a tag, great. Who cares? I don't.. Let him/her keep their score -
I use the G5 Expert II drop away... I used a WB for years in the midwest and loved it. I think it is a great rest for eastern whitetail hunters in tree stands. However, in the midwest, a 30 yds shot is pretty far in the hardwoods. IMO hunting out west where the shots go much further, I like the drop aways. My .02

Hey everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself since I just joined the forum today. I have been lurking around here for a while and decided to join. It looks like you have one of the best sites around. I have been on a few coues hunts, but haven't sealed the deal yet and I am looking forward to it. Being from the Midwest, I learned that WT hunting is a whole other ball game here. Looking forward to an OTC hunt next month... GL

Kinda hard to explain without boring everyone to death, but it is based on a popular talk radio show in MN... Wikipedia: "Garage Logic is a place where it's understood that any problem worth discussing can be solved in the garage. Garages are revered. Lawyers are reviled. Cigar smoking is encouraged. Residents are big fans of boating, golfing, and the University of Garage Logic Fighting Stogies. Traditional values have currency in Garage Logic, and cultural and religious traditions are preserved. The only elected official in Garage Logic is the mayor, and his only responsibility is the town's Independence Day fireworks display."

+1 for the Frogg Toggs. I bought a set from bowhuntersuperstore.com for a great price. I got them in a AP camo... great light weight, raingear. Very packable.

I have a small thermos (2 cup) that I put hot soup into, and I also take along a peanut butter and honey sandwich (looks like they are popular). Toss in some trail mix, jerky, and apple and bite size candy bars for a little pick me up, and I am good to go. The thermos will keep my liquids hot all day. I put my sandwich in a sandwich tupperware container. That protects it from getting crushed.

I have not used the DB blinds... I have a Primos GroundMax that I picked up from Cabelas for $120. It is a really good blind for the money and has served me well. I have a friend who has the Ameristep Bone Collector model, and he really likes that blind as well. I dont think you can go wrong with either the Primos, Ameristeps or the DB's

Hi everyone, My name is Chip and I have been lurking around this forum for a while; it looks like one of the best boards out there. I wanted to introduce myself, and let everyone know that I am happy to be here. I am originally from the Midwest, and although I have been out a few times trying to fill my coues tags, I have yet to get my hands on one. I am in law enforcement.
