I use the G5 stone when I'm in camp, and an old whetstone at home. The flat stones work well with the angle on the Montecs that I shoot. With the curved CoC tip you'd be better off using the lansky sharpener Pac mentioned. It will put a crazy sharp edge on it.

Mind sending me the specs on the rifle? I've been wanting to build one for a while now.

Noticed bonus points have been updated on my portal.

Ah, I see now. Didn't realize you could even have an account. Looks like I'm going to Montana. Thanks for helping me figure it out. Kind of depressing looking at all the pages of "Not Drawn" ....... -

There's only one field for that. I'm at draw.azgfd.gov, click at view draw results at the bottom, and the only fields are one for my ID/SS#, and one each for the day/month/year for DOB. There is no second field for an ID number. -

My SS is my sportsmans ID. Never found out how to change it. -

Still have no update to my portal account. Phone line says "Sorry, no results were found with the info provided." Kind of frustrating not knowing where I'm going hunting this fall. -
I'd roost them the night before. Time your calls with lulls in the wind. If you cut fresh sign, set and call. If they are down wind, your call will carry and they'll likely come in quiet on you.

My portal account is showing nothing new. Has anyone who drew checked the phone lines yet? Said there's no info for my account when I called.

When is the raffle? -
I live north of town and will be shooting steel at Rio tomorrow evening if you need me to help move them.

You could make your own for about $12. Google it and you'll be surprised how easy it is.

I've not shot any of their rifles, but I know a few guys who do at the local 3 gun matches. They had a booth at SMM3G and I really liked their new trigger. If I didn't have two Geiselles laying around I would have bought one to throw into the rifle I'm building my wife. Next match I shoot I'll ask the guys I see shooting them.

Can anyone quantify the advantage of 50mm vs 40mm objective
metau replied to apache12's topic in Long Range Shooting
If memory serves me right, it all has to do with exit pupil diameter. You take the objective lens size and divide by the magnification to get the exit pupil. The human eye can dilate to about 6-8mm(depending on age and other factors), so the closer you can get the exit pupil of your scope to your max dilated size the longer you will be able to see through your scope. Of course, this also assumes the quality of glass and coatings in the scope are good enough to help and not hinder this. -
22-250 or .243 for yotes and mulies
metau replied to AR15RDY's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Of the two you listed, the 243 would be my choice. I have both, and have used both to take deer and coyotes. I would not use the 22-250 on deer again. I'd take my bow or use a handgun before my 22-250. The quarter bores and 6.5's allow you a lot more flexibility with what you could shoot with said rifle, and the conditions in which you could take such shots. Lance's recommendation for a 25-06 is spot on. I had one many years ago(ex took off with it), and bought it just for the purpose of an all around rifle in CO. In the three years I had that rifle it was used to take several mule deer, an antelope, a slew of coyotes and bobcats, a lion, two cow elk, a pair of foxes and a small black bear. Shot the 85gr NBT's, 110gr NBT's and Accubonds, 100gr Scirocco's and 120gr partitions. Don't think they make the 110 NBT's anymore. I'd have one again except that I have a 257wby now. And a 243. And a 22-250. But one day..... -
Sweet! We'll get to 50 pages before the draw for sure then.....

Completely spaced this bud. I'll honor the earlier price that I said I would take it at. Sent you a PM.

Finally looked through one of these this past weekend. Has any one found an issue with the size of the aiming circle when ranging at distance?

I currently am running two benches, one I sit at and one I stand at(NMRA bench, have not finished the top). If you are going to have shelves or cabinets behind, make sure to leave enough room for the presses in front. What type of presses are you going ro be using? Also using same bench for working on guns, bows, etc? Here's a few links that will keep you busy for a few weeks as you go about your plans. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=203122&view=&hl=&fromsearch=1 http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19635&do=findComment&comment=229641 http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/2012/01/build-your-own-reloading-bench-with-free-plans/ http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_6_42/262015_Official_Reloading_Bench_Picture_Thread___Now_with_100__more_Pictures_.html
